About the Author

Ross E. Goodrich served in the Korean War before graduating from Northern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Science degree, Northwestern University with a Master of Science degree, and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with a Ph.D. in geography. He attended the University of Illinois in Chicago; Knox College in Galesburg, Illinois; and La Escuela Normal de Los Profesores in Saltillo, Mexico. Dr. Goodrich taught in public schools and later joined the Geography Department faculty at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. Then he changed careers to public health, attended the CDC in Atlanta, GA, for training in Infection Control, and worked in Environmental Health before retiring in 1995.
