Winging It

Why it is that some people are so planned out in everything they do and others, like me, just wing it? On certain days, I wish I could change teams and play for the other side or perform a stunning, symmetrical swan dive from the high board rather than a cannonball. Swan dives are in the Olympics, cannonballs are not.

About the Author

My love of theater took me to New York City after college where I had a twenty-two year career working in ‘Broadway, Film, and Television.’ I studied dance with Alwin Nicholias, acting at HB Studios, and writing at the New School before returning to my roots in the Lowcountry of South Carolina. In 2003, I created Lowcountry Women Writers to stimulate my own ‘writing habits’ as well as the habits of others. I write short stories, essays, and articles, and have just completed my first novel A Husband, a Loft and a Dog. When I’m not writing, I teach writing workshops through the Arts Council and the Technical College of the Lowcountry.
