Man’s quest for genetic perfection has led to the creation of new subspecies. Wolfen were the pinnacle of scientific achievement, redefining the limits of what it means to be human. Their counterparts, in turn, grew into the ultimate predators. Incapable of higher thought, converts were unstoppable in their need to breed and devour, and when they escaped, they brought the world to its knees.
Almost two decades later, humanity is on the brink of extinction and only the heartless survive. Rescued by two Wolfen brothers, Sinna must now brave the treacherous wastelands of North America in order to reach safety and the promise of a better life. But when an unexpected gambit forces them to separate, a genetic advantage becomes a liability, and the worst monsters turn out to be the ones who don’t have claws.
In the game of survival, Wolfen were created to be champions. No longer. The enemy keeps evolving, rendering old tactics ineffective, and the only rule left is to endure at any cost.

I could not put this book down! To be honest I read it twice. This post apocalyptic world that Alianne Donnelly has created, and the game of survival leaves the reader placing themselves right next to these characters. You are pulled through the story on the words and views of individual characters as the story progresses leading up to the inevitable ending. When monsters are lurking around every corner and the ones that are most vicious look like everyone else. How do you survive? You adapt and do what is necessary. I highly recommend this book to paranormal, action, post apocalyptic readers, and yes even the romantics. This book is not a romance, however the subtle light relationships help tie this book together. All claws up for Wolfen and it's amazing author whom left me wanting more.
I have to say, this is my favorite Dystopian book to date. It has everything you want, Action, Romance, Good Werewolf/Human hybrids, Bad Werewolf Zombie Monsters, Mad Scientists, Borderline Mad Scientists, and weird colonies that remind you of an episode of The Walking Dead. It was also the first book EVER to give me nightmares! (Kudos to the author for that) I ABSOLUTELY give this book 5 out of 5 stars and recommend all of you guys/gals get a hold of this beast and sit back and enjoy the ride! I would rate it at as suitable for the 15 years and up crowd because of violence and extreme situations.
READ THIS BOOK. If you love the post-apocalyptic genre, READ THIS BOOK. If you like heart-pumping action, READ THIS BOOK. If you like unconventional romance that doesn't drive the whole story, READ THIS BOOK. If you like monsters that go munch in the night, READ THIS BOOK. If you don't want to wait for the umpteenth million installment of a series to find out what happens to your favorite character, READ THIS BOOK. Alianna Donnelly has written a book that revitalizes dystopian fiction. Using both narrative and third person point-of-views, you get a full look into how the world she's created shapes and molds her characters. You get to experience the realization that there is more to the current world than meets the eye, and watch as characters grow into their own, learning of the past and how it will shape their futures. I'd recommend this book for anyone who may wonder what could happen if the government were to lose control of some of their most secretive and dangerous experiments, and as a result, set in motion the end of times as we know them. I'd recommend it to anyone who's ever wondered where and if they will ever fit in. I'd recommend it to anyone who wants to be reminded of what it's like to find home, and learn that it's not a place, but the people you are with. This book will make you feel things. I laughed, cried, screamed, and panicked with Aiden, Bryce, Sinna, and Desiree. And I hope you do too!
This book is phenomenal! All of the reviewers before me have done an excellent job of explaining the plot of Wolfen so there is really nothing much left for me to say except this book is movie worthy and needs a sequel. This book is so good it gave me nightmares yet despite that left me wanting more. I might suck at writing reviews but I have excellent taste in fiction. Wolfen without a doubt was my favorite book in 2014 I could not put it down it was THAT good.
If you only read one book this entire year, read this one!!! The description doesn't do it the justice it deserves, and the only thing wrong with this book, is that it ends!!! I loved it so much. Every time you think you have it figured out you get thrown for a loop and no it is not another zombie book. Alianne's take on human experiments gone right and wrong is a breath of fresh air in an area where things have begun to stagnate. This book is definitely one of those books that you can read again and again. Let's all just hope that her muse badgers her into writing another one!!!
