I have bought a ton of writing books over the years, but only a few make it to my keeper shelf. This series is one of those keepers. In fact, after reading the series as ebooks, I just ordered the paperback because I really need it by my side during revisions. Authors: if you only buy one craft book this year, buy this series!

Book 2 in the Writing Active Setting series does not disappoint. Once again, Mary Buckham has given us a quick and easy to read explanation of how to weave emotion, conflict and backstory into the telling of our stories where it draws the reader in deeper, creating an emotional connection to the characters. I highly recommend this series to anyone who wants to improve their writing and storytelling skills.
