Wrong Number was a good read but it was a bit predictable & somewhat slow. I also felt I was sorta just dropped into the story without enough background on Will & Amanda. That being said I did find it an entertaining read & I will check out more by Carys Jones I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Amanda Thorne seems to have it all ... a nice home, a wonderful husband, a web-design job that she can do from home. And then comes the phone call ... a seemingly wrong number. The night she remembers to tell her husband about the call is the night he disappears. No note, no warning, just .... gone. She sends text after text and tries calling, but then she gets a recording stating that the phone has been disconnected. He has not shown up at work. Days pass and she is beside herself with worry. Where has her husband gone? As a last resort, she contacts her ex-boyfriend, now a detective. And so the search begins .. for a man who isn't who she thought he was. Has she ever known her husband? This was an okay read ... not really what I would call all that suspenseful. The characters seemed to miss the mark somewhat. The ending was ... abrupt. There were questions that were not addressed. I'm not sure whether a cliff hanger was implied, but if so, it didn't work. An epilogue might have been a better choice. Many thanks to the author / Aria / Netgalley who provided a digital copy.
