About the Author

Louis Robison was a practitioner in the field of traditional K–12 and college education before taking an early exit to become principal in a nontraditional school for youth offenders. He eventually returned to traditional education where he served as a director for middle school education and executive director for state and federal testing requirements. As a school level administrator, Louis modeled high-performing schools around his single belief that you must understand the rules of the game if you intend to be an effective player in the game. An educational and community leader for more than twenty-five years, Louis has been a presenter and researcher for leading-edge reforms in Florida public schools. He is active in many community boards and shares a passion for quality K–12 education. Notably, he considers his role as principal to be the most challenging and yet the most rewarding.
