About the Author

Erin Highling is an elementary education teacher. She graduated from East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education K-6 and she also holds a Masters degree in Reading Specialization from Hood College. She has taught 4th and 5th grade students for almost 10 years and enjoys watching them grow and learn, especially in the areas of math and reading. Erin has grown up around baseball her entire life. With two older brothers and a dad who played, she developed a love of the game early on. She became a baseball manager in high school, where she met her husband, a college player and now high school coach. Her life is centered around the game, and she hopes to use baseball as a means to help students learn math in a fun and engaging, real world way.
