About the Author

Linda Pfiffner PhD is Professor of Psychiatry at the University of California, San Francisco and is a licensed clinical psychologist. She is also Director of the Hyperactivity, Attention and Learning Problems (HALP) Clinic at the Children’s Center at Langley Porter. She received her B.A. from UCLA and her Ph.D. from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. She has over 60 scientific publications focused on school-based interventions for ADHD, family factors and co-occurring conditions in ADHD and family-based behavioral interventions. She developed the Child Life and Attention Skills (CLAS) Program, an integrated multi-component behavioral intervention for ADHD, through funding from National Institute of Mental Health and with funding from the Institute of Education Sciences at the US Department of Education, is adapting the program for delivery by mental health professionals in school settings for children with attention and/or behavioral concerns.
