About the Author

In addition to being a cookbook author and food-product inventor, Erica Levy Klein is a travel photojournalist whose culinary career began when she won the national Magic Pan Restaurant Oktoberfest Recipe Development Contest at age 17. Her first cookbook was chosen as a Featured Selection in the Better Homes & Gardens Book Club, earned positive reviews in "The New York Times," and led to appearances on “Good Morning America” and other news programs discussing the benefits of substituting spices and herbs for salt, fat and calories.

More recently she studied professional cooking in three of the top “Spice Capitals” of the world – Bangkok, Marrakesh and Bombay, learning Thai, Arabic and Hindi in the process. Today Ms. Klein consults and speaks on all aspects of herbs and spices to companies, professional associations, hospitals, non-profit organizations and cruise lines.
