Overview

HE SURVIVED LEGION TRAINING ON PLANET HELL. HE THOUGHT HE'D SEEN IT ALL. HE WAS WRONG.

His Legion designation is Beta 3, warname Thinker. This will be the first mission for the young troopers of Squad Beta. They are bound for the Outvac to investigate a mysterious System incursion on the remote planet Andrion 2. A rough truce divides the known galaxy between the despotic slave empire of the System and the Confederation of Free Worlds, claiming the Outvac frontier. It soon becomes clear that Beta is facing more than Systies. The ultimate evil is awaiting them all, writhing in the shadows, merciless and all-powerful, and humanity itself is poised on the brink of extinction.

About the Author

Marshall S. Thomas is a retired U.S. Government official who served overseas in East Asia for most of his career. Marshall attended the Georgetown University School of Foreign Service, the University of New Mexico and the University of Miami with a major in Government/International Affairs and a minor in History.

Marshall is the author of the six-book Soldier of the Legion action-adventure science fiction series, and the second Prophet of ConFree series (also six books). The Soldier series is still selling well as new readers discover the books, while many readers who have finished the Soldier series are moving on to the Prophet series. Marshall has recently begun the Seeker series with two new books. Both print and digital versions of all books are available from many online retailers.

In early 1969 Marshall began his overseas service with four years in the Vietnam War. He met his wife in Saigon and after a few years Stateside they began an East Asian odyssey with assignments to six Asian posts until 2001 when Marshall retired.

Marshall currently lives in Williamsburg, Virginia with his wife Kim Lien. His youngest son Alexander, a bioinformatics and coding expert, is working in New York City. His eldest son Christopher is a consultant and graduate of Radford University who studied art and graphic design. Marshall loves to write, and especially enjoys writing science fiction. He is a member of the Virginia Writers Club, Goodreads, and the Authors Den. He is a past President of the St. Andrew's Society of Williamsburg and a former member of the Sovereign Military Order of the Temple of Jerusalem (Knights Templar).
