David Poyer graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy, Annapolis, and served as a line officer on destroyers and amphibious ships. He transferred to a reserve comission in 1977 and began writing. His books include The Return of Philo T. McGiffin, Hatteras Blue, and The Med, the first Dan Lenson novel. Poyer lives in North Florida and on Virginia's Eastern Shore. He is currently attached to U.S.S. Antrim (FFG-20).
DAVID POYER's sea career included service in the Atlantic, Mediterranean, Arctic, Caribbean, and Pacific. He's the author of over forty novels and works of nonfiction including the War with China series:
Tipping Point, Onslaught, Hunter Killer, and
Deep War. Poyer's work has been required reading in the Literature of the Sea course at the U.S. Naval Academy, along with that of Joseph Conrad and Herman Melville. He lives on the Eastern Shore of Virginia.
