Von Bach
Doctor Heinrich Von Bach was the nineteenth-century scientist resurrected from the dead by his own ungodly invention. At least that's the story Hollywood told when they got hold of the gothic romance novel written about the good doctor. For a hundred years they've made as many films based on the bloody life and undeath of Von Bach.

Today, a major studio is finishing a big budget "Von Bach" movie. But suddenly, the real Von Bach returns to life in Hollywood and he is going to teach the cast and crew the true meaning of "development hell."

VON BACH! Greater than the power of life! Greater than the power of love! He possessed the greatest power of all! SUBPOENA POWER!

Playwright Owen Hammer has adapted the play for the comics medium and versatile artists Mariano Navarro and Hernán Cabrera will be bringing his vision to life.

"Von Bach" is a satire that pokes fun at pop culture and society in general. Nonetheless, there is a powerful story about the search for meaning and the struggle for one's own dignity. And of course, some genuine scares!

About the Author

Owen Hammer has written for stage, web series, comic books and the occasional TV pilot. Including Von Bach, he has written extensively for The Next Arena, including one acts. He has written explanations for cryptic films such as The Shining, Donnie Darko and Twin Peaks for his YouTube channel Hammered Out. His second graphic novel—Rogues Gallery—will be released in 2024.

He enjoys writing in the third person, unlike myself.

Mariano Navarro is an Argentinian self-taught artist born in 1972 who’s never stopped drawing pretty much ever since. Besides having worked in animation for 11 years in several animated motion pictures and TV shows both national and international, his main passion has always been that of a comic artist. He’s produced work in that capacity for multiple publishers like Image Comics, Boom! Studios, Octane Comics and Paquet Editions, in titles like Protocol Orphans, Cloaks, Descendant, Damaged Universe, Fallen and Sophia, besides recurringly working on his co-created Argentinian comic Red Knight.

And he keeps drawing still.

Born and raised in Buenos Aires (Argentina), Hernán Cabrera (b. 1975) is a graduated graphic designer and self-taught comic book colorist who worked for several publishers around the world, including Nuclea, Soleil and Paquet Editions (Europe), Class Comics (Canada), Avatar Press, Titan Comics, Tokyopop (USA), among others, in titles like Sophia, Caliban, Fashion Beast and Dr. Who, besides recurringly working on the Argentinian comic Red Knight.

He recently finished the miniseries Godkillers: War on Terror for AfterShock and is working on several projects, including the horror comedy Von Bach.

When he isn’t absolutely consumed by coloring deadlines, he likes to spend time watching movies and series, reading books and comics and spending time in nature.
