Book Nerd Tweets of the Week: Books or Underwear Edition
#KeeptheSecrets was trending on Twitter this week as online buzz builds about Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, the forthcoming play set nineteen years after the end of the series that’s due to be released in book for at the end of July. Early word is (fingers-crossed-please-be-good) pretty darned positive.
So, reaction to first preview was… wonderful. Feedback is fans really do want to #KeepTheSecrets for each other's sake. #DontBeWormtail

Does that apply to plays, as well?
Was looking forward to reading my book on the train. Forgot it at my place. Feelsbadman.
Got luggage back tho. Yay 4 underwear.

So, if I have to choose between my book or my underwear…I’m not sure I’d choose the underwear. Is that gross? I can’t even tell anymore.
Horror author Joe Hill has a new book out (The Fireman) and it’s his birthday. And he got a shout-out from another famous writer:
Not too late to wish Joe Hill a happy birthday!

Lucky guy. Wonder if they’ve met?
King also took a moment to mourn a loss that we’re all feeling with the passing of an icon:
Ali was the greatest, not just a boxer but a Civil Rights icon. His mouth was big; his heart (and his sense of humor) was bigger.

Meanwhile: who else has the following problem?
I can't read just one book at a time. I don't know if it's my ADD or something else. I've always wondered if it's just me. #FridayReads

I kinda get that.
Still more perils of the reading life:
Maybe if I buy enough books and put them on my shelf I'll be able to find time to read.

That will totally work, btw.
Chuck Wendig, author of the forthcoming Star Wars Aftermath book Life Debt would like to make one thing clear: it’s harder than it looks; doesn’t mean you’re doing it wrong.

Author (and behind-the-scenes Doctor Who-guy) Patrick Ness also has some age-old advice for writers:

You do you.
That’s all for this week. It’s time to log-off, maybe find some underwear, and get on with life.
I've been on Twitter all morning😂 I'm going to go take a shower or read a book or something✌🏽️
