Recipes I Stole From My Mother
Yes, these recipes are in fact stolen! They are not only stolen from my mother, but from every other mother with whom she had culinary contact for over seventy five years.
These recipes are the foods that I grew up on as a child. No need to have a microwave for any of these recipes. Although all are done on the stove top or in the oven; a crock pot will work fine in many instances.
You will be surprised at the simple ingredients in these recipes compared to the "pre-chewed" ingredients of the fast foods of today. The tastes are fantastic. The aromas are mouth watering and intense. The palate knows this is home cooking, not cooking brought home through the window of a car.
These recipes are gleaned from generations of working moms and stay at home moms of the 1940's, '50's and 60's; a time when all the women got together and swapped and compared recipes, coming up with just the right amount of ingredients to satisfy their hard working husbands and hungry children. So if they look and taste a little familiar, they just might be!
WARNING!! - Some of these recipes are full of things like "fat" and "butter" and "lard" and other ingredients that will probably be banned by the government soon because they taste so great and will be deemed " too good for the common people," or perhaps too hazardous. After all, everyone wants to die healthy. But for those who live and love to eat, this recipe book is for you.
These recipes are full bodied. They are filling. They are simple (well,........ except for the Beef Bourguignonne for special guests;) and you and your family and friends will love them.
Meals from the 1940's, '50's, and '60's at a 1940's, '50's, and '60's price. Why look farther when this little book is really all you will ever need.
