What was it like watching the process of the art come to life in various stages—from sketches to final inks?
I went to art school for four years to learn a very expensive lesson—that there are many other artists who are WAY better than me. Luckily, I get a chance to collaborate with these geniuses and create something cooler together than I could ever make alone.

Gravity Falls is a riddle wrapped in an enigma tucked in a mystery deep-fried in a conundrum slathered in hickory-smoked puzzle sauce. In other words, I’m hungry and I lost track of the question. But, it’s fair to say we’ll visit a part of Gravity Falls no human has ever seen.
How did you choose the behind-the-scenes art for the Barnes and Noble exclusive edition?
I think it’s great that Barnes & Noble gave us a chance to showcase some of the sketches and art behind the scenes. To select which ones to include, I had to think like Soos and let myself geek out for a moment. It was fun, dude!
Were you a comic book lover growing up and if so, any recommendation?
As a kid, I was obsessed with Calvin and Hobbes and Bone, and I’m certain that I’ve unconsciously ripped off ideas from both, wholesale. To see where I’ve stolen all my ideas from, look no further than the comics at your local comic shop!
