General Search Tips
Quick Search and Advanced Search both look through our entire collection of and Video Games products to locate matches to search requests. Quick Search is a single-field search. Advanced Search allows you to search on multiple fields and apply search filters.
Searching by Title
Enter all or part of the title you are looking for. You can leave out words such as "a," "an," or "the." The search engine will try to find products that have all the words you entered in the title. If no products are found with all the words, the search engine will try to find products with some of the words.
Searching by Keyword
The keyword search looks for all the words you entered relating to the title, platform, category, and publisher. For example, if you search on "Star Wars," the search results page will display all products that contain "Star Wars" in the title. You can be as general (e.g., "Playstation") or as specific (e.g., "The Sims") as you wish. Be aware that if you select "keyword," your search results may be very long. You should choose "title" or "publisher" if you know that is what you are looking for.
Formatting Your Search
It is not necessary to use any special characters in formatting your search. Simply enter the words you are looking for. Quotation marks, plus signs, or Boolean operators (AND, OR, NOT) will be ignored by the search engine.
The search engine is case-insensitive. You can enter your search in all capitals, all lowercase, or mixed case.
Quick Search
1. Go to the search field at the top of the Video Games store pages.
2. Type the desired title, keyword(s), or publisher/developer in the search field You can narrow your search by selecting the appropriate platform from the adjacent pull-down menu.
3. The search results will display a list of products that best match your search criteria.
Advanced Search
The Advanced Search form allows you to search on multiple fields and filters. Searching on more than one field may narrow your results to the exact product or products you are looking for.
Search by keyword and other criteria:
1. Click on the Advanced Search link at the top of the Video Games store pages.
2. Fill in any of the fields relevant to your search:
Title Keyword Publisher or Developer 3. Select any category from the pull-down menus on the following filters:
Platform Product type (game, console, accessory) Price Range Game Categories ESRB ratings Conditions (new/used) 4. You can enter information into more than one field or filter. The more specific the information you enter, the more exact your search results are likely to be. When you have entered all the information, click on the "Search" button to start your search.
Search Results
The search results page displays information about the product(s) that match your search. If the search engine isn't able to find any exact matches for your search, the page will display information about products that may be close to what you were looking for. Click on the title of the product to read more about it, or to order it.
Resorting Your Results
You can reorder your search results by selecting any of the following sorting options at the top your search results:

The list of results is too long. How can I shorten this list?
You can shorten the list of search results by narrowing the parameters of your search. The more fields and filters you use, the more focused your search results are likely to be.
The list of results is too short. How can I get more results?
If you have entered too much search information, it is likely that the search engine was not able to find many products that met all your search criteria. Try reducing the number of fields and filters you use in Advanced Search.
I didn't get any results. What did I do wrong?
There are a number of reasons your search may yield no results:
It may be that there are no products in our database that match your search criteria. You may have mistyped your search or put the search information in the wrong field. You may have entered too much search information. In this instance the search engine was unable to find any products that met all your search criteria. Try reducing the number of fields and filters you use in Advanced Search.
