Overview

The Bible, as well as other great books of historical and revealed religion, shows traces of a general and substantial belief in dreams. Plato, Goethe, Shakespeare and Napoleon assigned to certain dreams prophetic value. Joseph saw eleven stars of the Zodiac bow to himself, the twelfth star. The famine of Egypt was revealed by a vision of fat and lean cattle. The parents of Christ were warned of the cruel edict of Herod, and fled with the Divine Child into Egypt. Pilate's wife, through the influence of a dream, advised her husband to have nothing to do with the conviction of Christ. But the gross materialism of the day laughed at dreams, as it echoed the voice and verdict of the multitude, ''Crucify the Spirit, but let the flesh live.'' Barabbas, the robber, was set at liberty. The ultimatum of all human decrees and wisdom is to gratify the passions of the flesh at the expense of the spirit. The prophets and those who have stood nearest the fountain of universal knowledge used dreams with more frequency than any other mode of divination. Profane, as well as sacred, history is threaded with incidents of dream prophecy. Ancient history relates that Gennadius was convinced of the immortality of his soul by conversing with an apparition in his dream.

This book is a lot less confusing than similar books. It also happens to be a lot more comprehensive. They give you examples of dreams and then translate them for you. This has nothing to do with the 10,000 dreams meantioned in the title, it's all about your dreams. A dream dictionary that is unsurpassed in quality, quantity, and usability. Use it once and you'll see that it is well worth the price.

I haven't written down and interpreted my dreams in some time but I always remember this book as being the most accurate of all the dream books I've used, and I've tried quite a few. It was always easy to use and the symbols explained in a very clear method for anyone who'd like to interpret their dreams. Some of the descriptions like the one for a Horse tend to be a bit weird and strange but it makes the book that much more interesting. I mostly bought a new copy as my original copy was worn and getting old.

It's a very good book, for someone who can understand what they are talk about, by their words. I found most words, for me to understand and brake down. I still couldn't understand. It's take a good dream and knocking it down to something bad to look forward to. What I need, is a book to understand and brake down to my leavel.

Forgot where I got this. Probably a bookstore or sale. But had this one for as long as I can remember. This was good, interesting but good.

Out dated Nd not relevant to today. Very sexist. Would not recommend especially on the Nook. Not easy to navigate the pages.

This isnt really what i was looking for, it doesnt really tell you what the topica,s mean, but more of what caused them in a way. Glad it was only a dollard. Pkus there is no table of context so it takes a long time to find the letter your looking for.

I have come across a number of dream diaries and dictionaries and this book is excellent. THe organization and the quotes used to explain different objects in a dream is very clear and observant. I recommend this book to anyone who might need to know something about their subconscious and their own insight

I was so excited when I bought this book thinking it would have the detail and flexibility to interpret dreams. There are certainly thousands of points to consider. Of course, there are just as many concepts missing or out of date. It gives a broad basis from which to begin learning about dream interpretation.

the book was very informative but some of the things that you would like to look up are not even in there.

I like figuring out what my dreams mean, and this book works for me. I wish it had an index, but other than that, it's pretty good.

For anyone whom dreams frequantly, this book is a must have! 10,000 Dreams Interpreted helps the dreamers of the world to see their dreams true meaning. It also helps to explain why some people do not dream, or so to speak, don't remember dreaming. I would recommend this book to anyone that dreams frequantly!

I expected it to be more of the guide to what your dreams mean corresponding to your feelings but its much more of a prediction of what will happen in your life according to your dreams. Besides that, its pretty good and it is pretty interesting. I think I rather would have had the actual interpretation rather than a prediction book though.

Had one few years back and bought one as a gift to a friend and even her kids are reading it. The book and illustration is good. I just wish the author include about colors if there's a meaning in it.

This is the first book of dream interpretations I've bought, and probably my last. The interpretations seemed to be from the mid-19th century with little modernization. They are also usually negative. It did predict personal issue in my life, but overall, I think there are a few on-line dream interpretation sites that are much better, but you may want this around for reference just...in...case.
