The 13th by John Everson is a twisted and fascinating tale. If you had read some of his other books you will see that this one brings you into a darker, sinister place. A story to piece together as you read. It is a suspenseful tale with thrills, gore and terror.
A must read. Recommend it to everyone you know who is a lover of horror books. You won't be disappointed and neither will they.
I really did love this book. I did not see the end coming in this one. I think I read this book in less than 2 days, just to see how it ended! Great spooky story.

As an avid reader of horror, I would say The 13th is easily among the top five best reads of the last two years. Filled with explicit sex and gore, yet balanced with sympathetic characters, I found myself reacting viscerally to the climactic rescue scene and the heartbreaking ending. Diehard horror fans should love it.

Overview
The mysterious Castle House Asylum has been the site of unholy occult rituals using twelve missing women. But the most important is still to come . . . the 13th.
