This is the second revised edition of Dr. George Barton Cutten’s landmark 1948 book The Silversmiths of North Carolina. Lists 273 silversmiths with a biographical sketch of each based on extensive use of primary and secondary sources. It includes 447 black-and-white illustrations of silver pieces and marks, a revised introduction, an increased number of notes, appendixes not in the earlier editions, and a complete name and subject index.
