sweden's ROXETTE may not sell a lot of records in the U.S. these days "which is a shame since the duo continues to consistently put out some of the best music on the planet",but that doesn't diminish what they did accomplish when they took the U.S. charts by storm some years back.just like their swedish predecesors ABBA, ROXETTE's big hits all sound as fresh today as they did back when they were topping the charts, and the new songs on this greatest hits cd would easily be chart entries here in the U.S.today if radio programmers would give them a spin. every song on this set is a winner, with "crash boom bang" being my favorite. that song should have been a #1 smash in this country like it was everywhere else in the world but it never even charted in america. anyway, this cd is a JOYRIDE from start to finish & reminds me of why i fell in love with this group's music in the first place!

Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.“Roxette Hits” is a great compilation of songs ranging from the creatively dramatic such as “Fading Like a Flower” and the highly upbeat in the form of “Joyride.” I enjoy this collection because many of the tunes are performed with intense emotion. My overall favorite musical tune has to be “Listen To Your Heart.” The dance group DHT remade “Listen To Your Heart” with stunning results in 2005. However, it was Roxette who originally put “Listen To Your Heart” on the musical map with the effect of brilliance. “Roxette Hits” is best for anyone that enjoys happy pop music from the 80’s/90’s era.

Capitol's Collection of Roxette Hits: Their 20 Greatest Songs collects 12 album tracks, a couple of remixes, four singles, and two new cuts ("Reveal" and "One Wish") that dutifully sum up the hook-filled careers of Swedish pop masters Marie Fredriksson and Per Gessle. Longtime fans who balked at the group's mammoth six-disc box set (Roxbox 1981-2006) will find this concise and impossibly catchy compilation a whole lot easier to digest, both cerebrally and monetarily.
