Overview

Ginny has a successful career, nice home and good friends. The only thing she's missing is love. Her past attempts at dating always seem to end badly, until a friend recommends some romance novels. Meant to be instructional, Ginny laughs off their usefulness.

Ian is a powerful Scottish laird, living in Medieval times. As the new leader of his clan, he is honor bound to make decisions that benefit his people. Tough, but fair, Ian has made a name for himself among the clans of the Highlands.

A freak accident leaves Ginny in a world within herself, the world of the romance novel heroine. Fighting off an evil band of Lowlanders, Ginny meets her hero, Ian, powerful laird of the clan McKenna. Ginny soon realizes she is in the body of an Englishwoman and is being forced to live with the McKenna clan.

Ginny assumes she must fall in love to move out of this world and back into her own. So before her hero can marry another, she schemes to win him back and hopefully reach her goals.

New twist on your typical romance novel.

I liked this book. I loved the twists & turns her life took in this story.

What I don't like is not knowing what's going on in her 'real' life.

This needs a couple of allusions to keep the reader attached to the main story line.

Getting in an accident & suddenly living in the trashy romance novels you've been reading. Totally cool. Leaving the reader hanging, not knowing if they survived the accident...MEAN!

    Poorly written.

Not a very engaging story. The writing style feels like a teenager wrote it. If you want a good tome travelling romance book set in scotland read the outlander series by diana gabaldon. Those are some good books.

    A Book I Recommend

The book was quite the experience. I loved the idea of being sucked into a romance novel so our heroin can learn about herself. Most people in these reviews seem to dislike the ending, but it left me hungry for more. The ending wasn't as abrupt as one might think because the story ends, just like any other novel, and then adds a cliff hanger. It was quite refreshing really.

    Loved this book but...

I really enjoyed this book but I absolutely hated the ending. Read 500+ pages wondering if Ginny would get back to where she belonged only to have the book just end. I wanted a better ending.

    Loved It ;-)

I put off reading this book after I downloaded it, but now I wish I hadn't! I cried twice... could have been hormones but I'm blaming the story. *WARNING* You will want to buy the whole series.

    Glad it was free

Although the story premise is tried and true, the level of writing left a lot to be desired. For me, the story wasn't enough to overcome the amateurish prose.

    Quantum Leap Meets Romance Novel

What a fun story! After we get through the obligatory first few chapters getting to know Ginny's modern life woes, once she's transported into the romance book, it's gets really interesting. Ginny is aware she's in a romance book and that perspective is refreshing and funny. This is the first romance book I've read where I was actually caught up in the action scenes--the author did a nice job writing those. The sex scenes were steamy, just wish there were more, lol. I cried, laughed, and yelled at parts in this book. Kinda sad Ginny has to leap around romance book to romance book, but the storyline is interesting so I'm in for the next book in the series.

    Loved it!

I really enjoyed this story. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because I really did not care for the Jamaican trip chapters in the beginning. Ugh... The only thing that kept me from dismissing this book entirely was the need to see how she made her transition into her new life. Once that happened, I was sucked into the story and could not put it down! I wish the story would have included the events of the next 6 months (wink, wink) instead of where it did. Even so, I can not wait to read about the other lives ahead for Ginny!
