    Sweet

Good, sweet story. Shows800+ content, but only 100+ pages. Very deceptive as to expected content. I would purchase the entire series, but who wants to pay 2.99 for such a short story?

This historical romance takes place in the 1800s with Hannah and her husband, Frank, who is a preacher, moving to Colorado Territory to farm.  They build a house and Frank hires two man to help build other buildings and plant the fields. Frank falls off a roof while helping neighbor and is paralyzed. He then get pneumonia and dies leaving Hannah a widow at 19. She tries to cope with her grief and keep the farm going but relies on one of the hands, Nathan, to take care of the farm. Hannah and Nathan were drawn to each other even before Frank dies which she is very uncomfortable about. Not only is it not proper for her to have feeling for any man other than her husband, she remembers her family's instructions that if a man was a gambler or drank, no was no good.  Since Nathan was a gambler and drunkard - he must be no good.

I enjoyed this story and learned a lot about that time period. Hannah is so concerned about society and what people think but I guess that was the way it was for a city woman at that time.  But I didn't see how she thought it would be acceptable for Nathan to stay in her bed when she couldn't sleep after Frank died.  She didn't care what people thought then!
