Looks like a promising read and most of the material is there, but where there are pictures and captions the formatting was distracting. If I'm trying to correct my running form, I want to be able to see the picture and the rationale at the same time. Tried it with Nook for Mac, Nook Color, Nook Touch, and Nook First Edition. It worked better on Nook for Mac, but I want the portability of an e-reader or paperback. After almost an hour on the phone with a very helpful customer service rep, she determined that it was a content/publisher issue and thankfully not a Nook issue. Refund could take a bit, but I will be purchasing a paper copy of the book.

There is a lot of very good advice in this book. I am a big fan of "Born to Run" and had been running in minimalist shoes for a year before reading this book. Some of the things he outlines in this book I had figured out for myself, reasoning that I had to "pretend I was barefoot" all the time to get my muscles acclimated. Ken Bob is the original master but at times he comes off as a little fanatical - he is very dismissive and condescending towards those who choose to run in minimalist shoes. Here in Indiana we have been running on packed snow for the last month ! And I would never want to live in Southern Hell (aka Southern California). All in all this book is a good book for those who want to improve their running technique.

Great first book to get you started on the road to barefoot running. Lots of tips and useful information, as well as pictures. Not too technical, easy to read and understand.

BfKBS is a very influential runner, to shod runners and barefooters alike. If you're not ready to ditch the shoes completely and run off into the sunset barefoot, then this is a great book to prepare you for the transition. Great advice, nice pictures, and an informative tone make it a favourite rec for me to new natural runners.
