Overview

More cherished than gold are the Jewels of Kinfairlie, and only the worthiest may fight for their love...The Laird of Kinfairlie has unmarried sisters, each a gem in her own right. And he has no choice but to see them all wed in haste.

Lady Madeline’s heart is not for sale...especially not to a notorious outlaw like Rhys FitzHenry. Yet Madeline’s hand has been sold, to none other than this battle-weary warrior with a price on his head. A more dutiful maiden might cede to the Laird’s command and meekly accept her fate, but Madeline has never been obedient.
She decides to run away, though she never dreams that Rhys will pursue her.

She does not expect this taciturn man to woo her with fanciful stories, much less that each of his enthralling tales will reveal a scar upon his shielded soul. She never imagines that a man like Rhys could imperil her own heart while revealing so little of his own feelings. When Rhys’ past threatens his future, Madeline takes a leap of faith. She dares to believe him innocent — and risks her own life to pursue a passion more priceless than the rarest gem.

    Love and Adventure

The Beauty Bride has become my favorite romance novel. Madeline, the lead female character, is smart, brave, and honest about herself while Rhys, the male lead, is the perfect hero, mysterious, heavily armed, and clever. This book has lots more adventure than most romance books.

    Wonderful story

Madeline and Rhys' story is a wonderfully written love story. While these two might not have started out under the best of terms, the way the author softens Madeline's feelings toward Rhys as he tells his tales, is very sweet. As the bond between them grows, Rhys realizes that the truth is best no matter what the outcome....even if it means the woman he didn't expect to love walks away. 600+ pages

    Loved this book!!
I felt like the beginning dragged a bit but all of a sudden I was in love with these characters! Rhys and Madeline have such great chemistry, I love their bantering and humor. I really enjoyed Rhys' tales/fables. He told so much about himself through his stories and he didn't even know it!
Vivienne and Elizabeth, Madeline's sisters were funny and we can't forget Darg, our little Fairy/Sprite. Alexander, the oldest of brothers, who has just become the new Laird even grew up during the story.
I enjoyed this so much that I just bought 4 more of Claire D's books, 3 of them being part of this series.

    It's a beaute

Claire D. has mad writing skills. I found myself laughing and nervous, excited and anxious. What a well-crafted story. It is NOT really 700 pages; more like 350, (i find page numbering an arbitrary thing at Barnes and Noble), but still a complete tale in and of itself. Then you find out there are more stories with the same characters? Bonus. I got this free, but will be purchasing the boxed set. An editor needs to clean this up a bit, but it does not detract from the story. A must-have.

    Novel/Romance

The mysterious stranger that shows up at an auction to purchase a bride is a wanted man.

Madeline is being auctioned off to save the family keep. However, a spriggans, Darg, is awakened from a long slumber and out to make mischief.

Madeline decides to run away from this force marriage and is assisted by one of her deceased father's mercenaries. Trouble besets Madeline, however, she is rescued by her purchaser, Rhys.

With lots of twists and turns regarding inheritance laws and church laws, and Darg tagging along to make mischief, Rhys & Madeline are wed & the marriage consummated.

Madeline & Rhys make for Rhys' inheritance, a Welsh keep, but they are pursued by Madeline's family.

    This novel is sexually explicit!
