The poetry is written in three voices - male, female, and gender neutral, creating poetry that may be enjoyed either gender and many of the themes involving matters of the heart are ambiguous enough to work with any sexual orientation, making "Breakfast Anytime" a delightful read by anyone.
This collection of poems runs the gamut from passion between a couple, a parent grieving their child growing up too fast, scorned lovers and more. My favorites included the title poem "Breakfast Anytime", an acrostic which tells an interesting story; "Amazement", a sweet poem told from an ill child's perspective, and "The Cure for a Broken Heart", a cute piece about a young woman seeking a doctor's advice on how to get past a break up.

I found it very easy to relate to the speaker and felt emotionally connected in nearly every poem. I'm not usually one for poetry, but I loved this collection. There was such passion and sorrow, cynicism and hope, frustration and love. The imagery is just beautiful.
Christopher Thompson is a career IT Support Technician and novelist, his current works in progress being the first two novels in the supernatural horror "Gardener of Eden" series and a collection of short fiction entitled "The Dark Side of the Snowflake". He is also a past recipient of both the Gold and Silver Poet recognitions via World of Poetry and the titular poem of his book, "Breakfast Anytime", was once ranked at #1 of close to 400 entries in a friendly non-profit contest with his fellow poets. This placement is an accomplishment which makes him very proud, as the poem was written in remembrance of his late grandparents. He recently completed the Office of Letters and Light’s.National Novel Writing Month in 2010 with "Gardener of Eden: Sowing the Seed" and Script Frenzy with the romantic comedy "Saving Throw".
He is also the loving and devoted father of three wonderful children: Christina, Holden, and Aiden.
