The Bully By Gwynne Furches :)

THe Bully is about a 15 year old boy named Darrell. Darrell and his mom are moving to Phillidaphia, because Darrell's uncle offered Darrell's mom a job that will pay more. Darrell is at a new school around new people, one he wish he never met, Tyray. Tyray is bullying Darrell and using him to get money. Untill one day Darrell desides to stand up for himself. I think the Bully was great!

    The Bully

Darrell Mercer has to move to California because his mom got a new job. He now has a new high sckool called Bluford High. Darrell makes a friend in the first few days he's there. Her name is Amberlynn and she's nice and Darrell likes her right away. But along with this new firend he makes a new enemy. His name is Tyray and he's already picking on Darrell. Every Friday Darrell must give Tyray his mothers money or Tyray will bully him even more than before. After a few weeks Darrell is getting angry and has had enough of Tyray. His teacher Mr. Mitchell sees what is happening and gives Darrell the book Hatchet. Darrell at first is frustrated and thinks "How is a book going to help me?". But then Darrell starts to read it and learns the main character is not so different then him. Darrell is inspiered and joins the wrestling team to become stronger and not feel so weak and powerless. Darrell has more incedints with Tyray, but one day in the cafeteria, everyting changes. Darrell stands up for himself and Tyray gets mad. Tyray charges Darrell , but he's ready. Darrell ueses his favorite wrestling move on Tyray. Tyray is lifted off the ground and yells "Put me down!". So, Darrell does what hes told and Tyray falls down and breaks his wrist. Tyray is susspended for three days and if Darrell does it agian he is susspended. I thought this book was ok.

    The Bully

Darrell Mercer has just moved from Philadelphia to California with his mom. Exactly on the first day he gets there, he incounters a bully named Tyray. Tyray has done so many cruel things to Darrell such as stuffing him into a trash can, tripping him and spilling his food onto him on purposely. In order for Darrell to gain his inner strength and confidence he joins the wrestling team. After he joins the wrestling team he starts to make friends for the first time. Soon after Darrell has been to many wrestling practices and is really good at it, he is sick and tired of Tyray and his bullying. He takes him down during lunch and does not have to deal with his bulling again. This was a really great book!

    The Bully

This book is a really good one of the series. I actually think that it is the best of the bluford series. I think that this is the best book for children or most importantly young adults. This is more for young adults because most teens are going through problems with bullying. Its boys and girls and anyone can learn something from this book. Have you ever been getting bullied in any kind of way and you were the kid that did not want to tell your friends? If so, this is how Darrell feels. Even though the main character in the book is a boy, i still think that this book can help out with bullying problems. This book can also show that bullying does not always work. It can back fire on you or turn around you some kind of way. It gives kids hope that they can accomplish they're bullying problems. Overall this is an awesome book and i was encouraged to read it from my friends. I heard them talking about it and i did not know what was going on but it sounded interesting. That is why i read the book. This is a must-read!

    Do Or Die

Darrell is a 5'0 135 pound freshman in Philadelphia. Though he is small in size, he has great friends who willingly assist him. Just as life is going well for Darrell, his mother is fired. Luckily, Uncle Jason has found her a great job that pays well. The only thing is the job is in California.

Darrell finds that it's more than sun and fun in California as he daily comes up against Tyray Hobbs, a bully. While ducking and dodging and finding new routes to school, Darrell joins the wrestling team, which makes him stronger. Preparing for his confrontation with Tyray, he's certain that it won't be an easy feat.

Has this ended? Check out the continuation in The Gun.
    Good for all ages.

    A Kid Confronting a bully

I thought this book was really good. It was really good because it talks about confronting a bully. There was this young boy named Darrel Mercer. His dad died a few years ago. He lived with his mom in Philadelphia, but they are moving to California because Darrel's Uncle Jason is offering his mom a job in California. When they finally arrive in California, Darrel meets a kid his age named Tyray. Darrel thought he was nice, but Tyray was a bully. On Darrel's first day of school, his gym teacher tells him he should try out for the wrestling team. Darrel met this girl after school at the supermarket, her name is Amberlynn Bailey. They like each other, but Tyray embarrassed her so she stops hanging out with him for a while. Do you think Darrel should go home to Philadelphia or stay in California and confront Tyray? I would recommend this book to people who are getting bullied because this book teaches you to gain courage and confidence to confront a bully.

    The Bully Bluford High

Paul Langan is a great writer he brings a lot of feeling and emotion into his writing. His characters are easy to relate to real life because there are people that get bullied every day like Darnell. After Darrell Mercer and his mother move from Philadelphia to California in the middle of the school year, the ninth-grader quickly becomes a target for the freshman class bully, Tyray and his friends; Tyray forces Darnell to pay him every Friday 10 bucks and if he didn't get his money he threatened to hurt Darnell. It wasn't like it was when Darnell was back home in Philadelphia because his friends used to always fight his battles now he's alone and don't know what to do. Everywhere Darnell went Tyray followed just to bully him. Darnell was also trying to help his little cousin from getting bullied by his older brother; basically the book is about growing trust and confidence. Once you start reading this book it would be hard to stop its one of the best books I ever read.
