The year is 1783 and dashing Alexandre Beauvisage is returning from the Revolutionary War when he discovers Caroline, unconscious and suffering from amnesia, in the Connecticut woods. Against his better judgment, he takes her with him to his home in Philadelphia and finds his life increasingly complicated as the fiery attraction between them builds and Caro's dangerous past reaches out to her.

CAROLINE is Cynthia Wright's unforgettable debut novel and is on keeper shelves worldwide. The story of a confirmed rake and an innocent, spirited young woman, it is filled with sensual romance, evocative history, memorable characters, and the joy of true love.

REVIEWS:
“The First Lady of Colonial American romance breathes life, passion, and vibrant historical details into every page. Magic, sensitivity, and humor have made Caroline a classic historical romance for more than 3 decades.” Kathe Robin, Romantic Times Magazine

“Classic romance from one of the best authors in the genre.” Bestselling Author Barbara Bretton

“Cynthia Wright’s masterful heroes were an unforgettable part of my introduction to the pleasures of reading historical romance, and I learned more about early American history, to boot! I am beyond delighted to see that Alec Beauvisage, Andre Raveneau and her other yummy heroes and spunky heroines are now available as e-books for a whole new generation of romance readers to treasure!” Bestselling Author Jean Brashear

Meet the Author

“Romance the way it was meant to be,” raves Kathe Robin of Romantic Times Magazine about Cynthia Wright’s 13 “classic” historical romances.
A reader says: “Her warm, adventurous, loving stories match Kathleen Woodiwiss in sensuality, but have a wholesome sweetness and zest all their own.”

Cynthia Wright launched her career as a bestselling novelist with the publication of CAROLINE, when she was twenty-three. She went on to write 12 more beloved and acclaimed historical romances set in Colonial America, Regency England & America, Medieval England & France, and the American West. Seven of these, the intertwined Raveneau Novels and Beauvisage Novels, have special places on the keeper shelves of readers around the world.

Cynthia's novels have won many awards from Romantic Times and Affaire de Coeur, but her favorites are messages from readers like this one: “Your books show love the way you want your own relationship to be: real AND romantic!” After taking a break from writing for several years, Cynthia is excited to be back as an “indie” author, bringing all 13 of her novels back as eBooks (newly edited, with gorgeous new covers!). She will also release a new novel, TEMPEST, in 2012.

    Great story

Caroline is a well written story that for the most part holds your attention throughout. I am a history buff but I found some of the historical detail in this storyy to be a little to much for my tastes. Overall it is a very good read.

    more from this reviewer

    Highly Recommend

This was the first book I've read of Cynthia's. It was a wonderful book! I love the relationship between Caro and Alec. Very romantic and real. The historical story behind the romantic story was very well done and I could picture it all in my mind. I would love to visit it all again and again!

The start of a beautiful relationship!

I just finished this book for about the dozenth time and I remember why I love Cynthia Wright's novels so much. She writes with humor and passion and romance. But not in a way I view most historical romances, too cheesy or over-the-top.

I love Caro and Alec's relationship as well as the historical side of the book. It's the way you want your own relationship to be. Real AND romantic.

Off to read the next books in the series, yes, again, for about the dozenth time

    Classic Romance

One of the all-time classic romance novels. Cynthia Challed Wright was one of the first romance authors I picked up and thirty years later I still read her stuff. Caroline is spirted and funny, Lion is tall, blond and handsome. Once you read this one you want to read the stories for the other family members.

    Ehh...

It was ok. A lot happens in a short amount of time and it didn't seem realistic.
