I love all the Spenser and Stone novels, but this one rises above the rest, imo. Spencer finds himself facing serious moral decisions that go beyond anything he's had to face in the past. A Must read for any fan of the Spenser series.

A Catskill Eagle is the best of the series so far. I am reading the books in their intended order, and this is a turning point, a remaking point. I just hope Spenser does not fall flat after such a succinct thriller.

The Most Unusual of all the Spenser Books

With few exceptions I dearly love all the Spenser books. This is one, however, that I keep coming back to read again and again. It's like one of those old pulp novels where suddenly your favorite series installment was ghost written by another writer in the stable. However it is unmistakably Parker and contains all your favorite Spenser elements. It's the best of both worlds.

The best Spenser book yet. Takes characters places that we have never seen.
