Overview

Happy New Clique!

Once upon a time, in Westchester and Orlando, there were four betas just waiting for their alpha. It took a miracle to bring the Pretty Committee together--or rather, a New Year's Yves party. Because sometimes when you meet someone, it just cliques.

Massie Block: Is destined to lead, but trapped as a beta in the Ahnabees, the top clique at PMS (Presbyterian Middle School). She has ah-mazing ideas--Friday night sleepovers, Gossip Points, and atching charm bracelets. When will it be her time to rule?

Alicia Rivera: Is dying to lead the Body Alive Dance Studio Squad. With the captain on vacation, BADSS's live performance on Merri Lee Marvil's New Year's Yves show is her chance to shine. Will she prove herself alpha-worthy--or will she need to find a whole new clique?

Dylan Marvil: Is done, done, and done with people kissing her teeny-tiny butt just because her mom is famous. But who would be brave enough to stand up to someone so Marvilous?

Kristen Gregory: Has made a New Year's resolution to make friends and get a life. Escape from Planet Loser starts . . . now!

Claire Lyons: Is psyched times ten to win a last-minute invitation to the New Year's Yves satellite party in Orlando. But first she needs to sneak out of the house. And the countdown to midnight begins in ten . . . nine . . . eight . . .

The Clique . . . the only thing harder than getting in is staying in.

    Very controversal...

This series seems to be causing a lot of controversal talk. Many people think that because the girls act cruelly and talk down to others this is a terrible series. But what many people don't take into account is the fact that there are girls like this in our world, minus the several-hundred-dollar allowances and priveledged lifestyle. I think girls need to look deeper into the message of the books and see the characters in their own light, when they're guards are down. Dylan is concious of her appearance and probably feels a bit invisible next to her mother's size zero figure and celebrity status, while Kristen is battling with the stresses of school and feels torn between two groups of friends. Claire is the lost new girl who only wants to be accepted, but like everybody, has her moments of a not-so-nice-girl. Alicia feels frustrated with always being 2nd best and who only wants to be number one for once. I believe that the characters in these books are more like us than we'd like to realize. They have fears amd insecurities and just have a different way of showing it. The author tries to give us a glimpse of their true colors when we see them break down or when everything doesn't go their way. These books should not just be judged by the glossy, cold, tough-girl cover that it gives off, just like the characters should not be judged by the cover they give off. You should keep an open mind and see them for who they are and who knows, you might end up loving it despite the rather unrealistic storylines. But it is very entertaining and the fashion is to die for!!! I love it, personally. And I have been readng them since I was in 7th grade.

    Charmed and Dangerous review

How was school honey? Fine. Sound familier? Sure kids tell their parents that schools great. But reality is that most kids are dealing with put downs or insults or any kind of social stress every day. This book makes a point about what happens to kids when their not at the dinner table. I would reccomend Charmed and Dangerous to all.

In the days before the Pretty Committee, life wasn't good for its members, but one New Year's Eve everything came together:

Massie Block was stuck in a clique whose leader had no interest in her ideas and she was getting mighty tired of being shot down all the time. Massie knew she's make a great alpha, if only someone gave her the chance. At a rocking party, she meets with a psychic who mentions, "When all five pieces are together, you will reach your full potential as a leader." All she has to do is wait for it to happen.

Alicia can't wait to dance in front of millions at the biggest New Year's Eve party, but she might not get the chance. First, her co-dancer becomes ill. Second, she might be able to convince someone to take her place, but will it mean giving up something she truly loves? Will the spotlight be hers to claim or will she go down in shame?

Dylan isn't interested in being part of the New Year's Eve show, but on her mother's orders gets ready. She meets this girl who tells Dylan her outfit is all wrong. Then she meets these two cute boys who teach her how to burp. But then when it's her turn on TV, something goes drastically wrong. Can she save face?

Kristen's stuck babysitting with her horrific cousin. She can't seem to do anything right at all. She's tired of spending all her time studying. Yes, she goes to school on a scholarship, but that doesn't mean she doesn't deserve to have fun. When the parents come home early, she has one chance to make her dreams come true.

Meanwhile in Orlando ...Claire's having a sleepover with her best friends when they hear a radio contest. To her good fortune, she wins a limo ride to a party and to be kissed by rock stars. She can't wait for her first kiss, but first she and her friends have to sneak past her babysitter and into the limo.

I really liked seeing how the CLIQUE came to be and each girl's life before the Pretty Committee. I adored the charm aspect and how the girls came together. I wish the cover showed them in their previous lives and not as they are now. CHARMED AND DANGEROUS is a quick and satisfying read for fans of the series.

    Awesome book for Clique Fans

This book is wonderful for all Clique fans. It tells the story of how the Pretty Committee became the Pretty Committee before Claire arrived. It is a great book and a must-read for all fans of the Clique series. I love all of Lisi Harrison's books, and if you like the Clique series you should also try the new series based off the Clique series. It's called Alphas, and it tells the story of Skye Hamilton. All teenage girls will love Lisi Harrison's work, and even some preteen girls will fall head over heels in love with these two series. The eBook format is especially cool because you can read it right away on your computer, no standing in lines for it at the store. And you know how much kids love to spend time on the computers nowadays, so this will make the perfect gift for girls you know. Buy it for a friend, a sister, a daughter, or even a cousin. It'd be the perfect series to get a group of girls into book clubs. I'm sure they'd love talking about Massie and the rest of the Pretty Committee, and they could have little finger foods to go along with it. Sounds great, huh? And with summer break just around the corner, those girls of yours are gonna need something to do other than hang out forgetting everything they learned during the school year. Hope you enjoy!!!

    This is a terrible series

Ohmygod! Would someone just pinch Lisi Harrison, the world wants to hear about REAL girls, not about girls who think that there better than people when their JUST as worst in personality. Her writing is terrible, the only person in the clique i really like is Claire, she way more real than any of them. She's just trying to fit in with girls who don't even now what they're doing. They're not even threatening to anyone, they're not even MEAN, they don't know what to do, that's why they're always having best friend problems, because they don't KNOW how to be friends.

I have just one word: AWSOME!

As a fan of Lissi Harrison's books, I totally love it. It was great every single thing I read, I just wanted to continue. I MEAN IT, when someone talked to me, I couldn't speak because I was reading. Now they just tell me, hey how was that book you where reading the other day? And I can't help but telling the hole stoy again... I highly recomend it to all every teenage girl.

Can't wait for more of The Clique books, so keep writting Lissi!

The Clique: How Good Is It REALLY?

The Clique books as many of us know, are about a bunch of mean girls, who look down upon anyone different, also called LBRs (losers beyond repair). But this concept may not be as good an influence as one would wish a book could be. The concept of LBRs can emotionally wound many girls who are treated as such. Furthermore, these girls, the "Pretty Committee", seem to think that anything goes, that they can treat others as they wish. That doesn't SOUND like a good influence. And in the several circumstances where they actually get in trouble for their actions, those problems are solved later in that same book, or one book later. That just isn't how real life works. This series is just a roundabout of trouble, and no lessons learned.
