Even though Padraic Colum's version of Homer is written in prose, it retains a fair amount of the beauty of the original.

I did not like this book. It was way to hard for anyone to understand. I thought the book was boring. I think it should have been more interesting.

This book was full of action and war! The tale of Odysseus is really exciting, and you never know what'll happen next in the battle of Troy. Definately one for the books!

i enjoyed this book very much. at first it was kind of hard to read because of how they talked but after that you got used to it. it was very good and had very good pictures.

I am a sixth grader and I have read the Children's Homer about 3 times. There has never been a time where i got bored or wanted to stop reading; my mom would have to pull me off the couch! I learned so many new words, my friends would call me a 'walking dictionary'! It keeps you reading; your eyes do not want to leave the text, and your friends are engaged in your stories. I truly loved this book and I hope that everyone is amiable about the fact that it deserves 5 stars.

The Children's Homer was a great book. I am in sixth grade, and it was a really easy book to read. Most of the words were ledgable and others gave me a whole new vocabulary. There is alot of violence, but I still enjoyed it. Details and descriptions are abounding in this book. There is one book (chapter) entirely devouted to the description of Achillies's Sheild. The Children's Homer crams both the Illiad and the Odyssey into one little paperback book. There is history and mythology to be found and learned here, and it can be read again and again.

I thought this book was absolutely horrid. It is impossible for a junior high student to fully understand it and comprehend its valuability. I reccomend teachers to not assign this book, throughout any of your teaching career.
