    somewhat recommended

    it was ok but sometimes i needed a break from it. I would lose interest but for free it was ok. i wouldn't read it again.

    A true mystery classic

    Every mystery lover should read this classic tale of a spinster who rent s a house for the summer and strange things happen. This is one of the best examples of the "Had I but known....." genre of mystery.

    This is the story of a woman who rents a summer home and falls into a big family mystery. It starts out seeming like a ghost story, but ends up being a messy family intrigue-plot. A good book to read on the subway, but not one I'd recommend to friends. Also, be aware that 3-4 times in the book she uses some then-acceptable now-grossly-offensive terms for African-Americans.
