Meet the Author

Born in California but raised in Hawaii, novelist/video game fanatic Steven L. Kent turned a life-long joystick addiction into a 15-year gig writing for publications like MSNBC, Boy’s Life, USA Today, Chicago Tribune, and Japan Times. After publishing the 600-page The Ultimate History of Video Games, Kent satisfied his Pac-Man-angst and set his sights on fiction. Having just submitted The Clone Elite, the fourth book in his “Wayson Harris Trilogy,” Kent is currently writing a standalone sci-fi novel while he develops a new series based on the Unified Authority.

    I Also Recommend:

    Best Book Ever!

I am a major fan of military books in jeneral, and I can honestly say that this book is the most intense, action packed thriller I have ever read! The plot is incredible, I didn't know the meaning of being unable to put the book down before I read this.
For readers who enjoy well thought out books that have back up reasoning behind all the technologies that are used, this is also the book for them. I'll try not tom give the story away, but scientific concepts and theories that we are just beggining to tap are in full use in this book. It is obviouse Kent knows what he is writing about, and knows a thing or two about chemistry.
As for the military area, this story has more all or nothing scenarios, battles on an almost incomprehensible scale, and all the weight of the survival of an entire race on one very rengade, and illegal, superclone's shoulders. It also contains a lot of team work, squad tactics, and everything else that make military books what they are.
This is the best realistic fiction book I have ever read, and would recomend it to every science-fiction/military reader out there.

    more from this reviewer

Pretty good book although the end leaves you with a lot of questions.

I liked the story all the way up until the end. The combat scenes are really good, it didn't matter if it was hand to hand or small arms. The only problem I have is the book doesn't tell us what happened to the rest of the human race. All in all a fairly good read.

Keep on doing what you do, Steven!

It was excellent. Everything about it really kicked ass.... the characters, the plot, the combat, the humor, everything. I thoroughly enjoyed this book!! Without wanting to say anything that will give anything away to anyone reading this review, I really like the way Mr. Kent worked everything into the book. Especially the characters of Philips, Thomer, Boll, and the rest of the clones under the command of Harris. Things like the dogs running around were great touches that helped to flesh out the world he's created. There were some really interesting concepts used in The Clone Elite, some things I'd never seen before (and I read A LOT of sci-fi books). From the very beginning at Sad Sam's Palace to the very end, this book kept me on the edge of my seat. It was something that I couldn't put down. If I had to say one thing bad about the book, it's the fact that I want to read the next one right NOW.

    Some notable quotes:
"Leanne," I said, "I have no idea."
"My name is Christina," she said.
    "No sh#t?"

"I felt a strong impulse to give that thing a particle-beam enema but resisted."
