This multicultural romance begins when a young man is brutalized and raped. He finds an ally in Sophie Baxter, a reclusive writer of interracial fiction. When Sophie initially meets Lucas she believes he is a young teen and takes him under her wing. About the Author

Pepper Pace is the pin name used by the author. Born and raised in Cincinnati, she has always enjoyed creativity. At a very young age, Pepper had a gift for art and would spend most of her spare time drawing images that she later began adding stories behind. Soon writing became more important than the illustrations and though she still loved art, it took a back seat to her real love.

Pepper wrote her first novel when she was 12 years old and had written 2 more by the age of 18. Too shy to share her work with anyone, Pepper stock piled her many stories into notebooks until she came upon Literotica.com and was compelled to share her craft.

Pepper became instantly popular and won several awards each year in which she submitted a story to the site. What a rich story. In creating a scenario where you show how trust, friendship and then love was able to be nurtured fed and sustained between Sophie and Lucas your story pulled me in gradually but firmly. You have written a truly challenging and fulfilling story of love between two people who have more things in common than the differences that are socially constructed by others.

Amazingly, each novel that I read by her, somehow, I'm forced to think more about others from different walks of life, and still enjoy the love affairs between her H/H, in this case; Lucas and Sophie. Ms Pace writes about a distinct and colourful relationship here. You won't be disappointed!

I have enjoyed every book I've read by Pepper Pace so far and I am looking forward to reading many more. The rape in this book may seem off putting, but the story is so wonderful and interesting that it is worth toughing it out. Buy this book, you will be moved by a wonderful and atypical romance, you will not be disappointed.

I did not know what to expect with this book. I thought that it may go in the wrong direction according to the synopsis. But it took me by surprise and kept my attention. I thoroughly enjoyed this one...you will too!

Kitter Puss

Pepper's so very different and that's what makes this a great read. If you've read IR romances, you know that they can be formulaic and just missing that extra oomph sometimes. Still, I love the genre and it's refreshing to see someone like Pepper twerk things and just go outside of the box. The story is very satisfying, the romance is unique but believable and beautiful. I highly recommend this book and am keeping my eyes peeled for anything new from this author.
