Overview

In the dark of Wales, two strangers stoke the fires of a forgotten passion. . .

THE HEIRESS
Accused of a horrific crime, Sheena was forced to flee her home at Castle Ogof, her heart and her mind tormented by what she had seen. With no one to turn to for help, she went aboard the DARK SAPPHIRE as a stowaway, seeking deliverance from the hell that pursued her. . .

THE CAPTAIN
Captain Keegan had no need for the love of a woman, not since watching his father lose everything – including his very life – over love’s folly. Wary of his father’s mistakes, Keegan vowed never to allow his heart’s passion to outweigh his mind’s cold calculations. . .

THE CRAVING
Discovered by the ship’s crew and brought before Captain Keegan, Sheena knew she was done for. No rogue could resist the massive bounty on her head. But she had met this dark captain before – in another time and place – and now she sees the shadowy sapphire that ties them together reflecting in his deep blue eyes. Suddenly a hot desire is reborn and they must run for their lives.

    A Fun Romp

I picked up this book after reading Dark Ruby. It was fun and fast paced with some steamy romance. I love a good medieval romance book like this to read over a long weekend or on vacation.
    Keep them coming Lisa Jackson.

    Entertaining medieval romance

In 1380 Wales, Captain Keegan Rourke wonders who the beautiful stowaway on his ship really is and why she is there. She reminds him of the ¿dark time¿ when his father died and he barely escaped with his life and lost part of his memory. As he struggles to remember this Victoria, she thinks about how she was forced to kill her odious husband on their wedding night because of his evil intentions.

Her father, Lord Jestin¿s head soldier, Sir Manning, seeks to capture the Lady Sheena for killing her husband, but she thwarts his efforts. Victoria, who is Sheena, and Keegan fall in love. However, she thinks he has betrayed her again as he did once before. She flees his ship, but her luck runs out when Manning uses the shipmates as hostages. At Lord Jestin¿s castle, the truth is revealed, but will it lead to a lasting relationship between Sheena and Keegan or to their deaths?

Though not unique, THE DARK SAPPHIRE is an entertaining medieval romance that is a worthy companion to the other two novels making up the exciting Dark Jewel trilogy. Keegan is a wonderful protagonist while Sheena is a brave, loyal individual deserving of the respect of the reader. The story line is fast-paced and filled with fourteenth century intrigue that shows that after fifty plus novels Lisa Jackson remains a sub-genre force.

    >>> I read this book up to the sixth chapter and quit. I just got so darned board. I usually like Lisa Jackson so it was shocking that I didn't get involved with the book.

    Good not Great

I liked this book, but usually when I start reading a great book I cant put it down until the book is finished. This book, however, was just ok and it took me four days to read it. I just wasn't into it.

    another enjoyable Lisa Jackson book

I have been a fan of Lisa Jackson's for many years and have just recently started reading her older books. They are such hidden wonders. I highly enjoyed this fast paced book set in Wales in the 1300's. It has all the classic elements of love, lust, adventure, death, and mystery! Keep them coming Lisa Jackson and I'll keep reading them!

    Not Bad

I've read better stories by Lisa Jackson. This was what I consider a typical romance. It was very predictable, but it can be enjoyable as a light read.
