Silly

This is the first book I've read by Erin that wasn't an anthology. It was okay...a little slow but entertaining enough. The ghost stuff was pretty lame.

    I Also Recommend:

    My first Erin McCarthy book.

I have read practically all of Erin's books after picking up this one a couple years ago. My sister picked it up for me and I read it and could not put it down. I loved this book! It was sexy, funny and steamy. She has never disappointed me in all of her romantic writings. I may have to re-read this book because I haven't read it in a long time, but I have been a loyal Erin fan after reading it and I guarantee it will not disappoint!

    Beware of Ghosts!!

This story made me wish my house was haunted with the same ghosts from the book. It is a funny, witty book that keeps you guessing from the beginning to the end. Maybe you do not know what is good for you but it is possible the ghosts and your grandmother do!!

Look for "Heiress for Hire". Shelby and Boston have some wonderful moments in that book as well.

Erin McCarthy is a gifted storyteller.

    Courtesy of Romance Junkies:

''Erin McCarthy always does an excellent job of combining laugh-out-loud humor with sizzling, steamy passion. A DATE WITH THE OTHER SIDE is no exception! It¿s always so easy to like her characters, too. Boston and Shelby come from completely different backgrounds but find they have more in common than they would have guessed. A big difference between them is in the way they reacted to their situations. Also, Boston is reserved and a loner. Not Shelby! She¿s devoted to her family and friends. And whatever she¿s thinking pops right out of her mouth, which is one of my favorite aspects of this book. If you¿re looking for a steamy read that will keep you laughing while you turn the pages as quickly as you can, A DATE WITH THE OTHER SIDE is for you. Very highly recommended!'

    A delightful read

Erin McCarthy has written another sexy, funny tale in A Date With The Other Side. _____ Shelby Tucker was shocked to find a hot, naked man in one of the rooms on her tour of haunted houses in Cutterville, Ohio. Shelby for the most part likes her quite, simple life in her small town. But something is missing. Could Boston Macnamara be the change she needs?_____ Boston Macnamara is stuck in this two-bit town until his boss at Samson Plastics lets him return to Chicago. He is renting a house on the ghost tour that has him in daily contact with local girl Shelby. She is affecting him like no other woman before in his life. ____ Shelby and Boston¿s road to romance isn¿t a smooth one but it¿s a hot, sexy and laugh out loud funny. Throw in a ghost or two you have one sensation read. I thank my lucky stars the day I found this authors work.____

    2.5 stars.

In all her years leading tours of haunted houses, Shelby's not had so much as a glimpse of ectoplasm- and she still hasn't. Boston Macnamara is no ghost, he just happens to have taken residence in one of the haunted houses. Now its up to some meddling spooks to set up Shelby Tucker and Boston Macnamara in a romance, despite their differences. .......................................... Though the premise is fascinating, that is the very fact that makes the let down so disappointing. It's not quite pwp, but gets really close at times, with very little depth to the characterizations.

    A wonderful paranormal romance

In Cuttersville, Ohio, Shelby Tucker leads a Haunted House tour when they wake up Boston Macnamara in the White House. Shelby¿s grandmother Jessie failed to tell her that she rented the haunted house to the naked hunk. Jessie informs Boston that the lease he signed allows the owner to enter at anytime. Already turning purple in exasperation, he turns green when he sees a big man with Shelby. .................. During the next tour, Shelby and Boston become locked inside the parlor unable to open the door or any windows. Jessie figures the ghosts are on her side in matchmaking Shelby and Boston. Her ex husband Danny Tucker breaks an outside window to rescue Shelby.................. On a subsequent tour, the ghosts lock Shelby and Boston inside his bedroom. They kiss and begin to make love until the door suddenly opens. Shelby stops the kissing and caressing, and leaves. ................. Word travels that ghosts are on the tour. Crowds arrive expecting to see them. Shelby asks Boston to be around for her tours because he is the catalyst. He agrees as he and Shelby are in love; Danny tells her that when ¿Big City¿ leaves her, he will be there for her, but nice Danny is no longer enough................. The interesting support cast especially the ghosts enhance the relationship between the strong lead couple so that the audience receive a wonderful paranormal romance. The story line is fun to follow as the ghosts and Jessie play matchmaker however, no explanation is provided for why the ghosts frequent Cuttersville. Still fans will appreciate this otherworldly romance and want a sequel starring Danny who is too nice not to have a woman love him................. Harriet Klausner

    Enjoyable, lighthearted romance

Shelby Tucker is living the simple life in Cuttersville, Ohio. She doesn't believe in ghosts, although she runs a ghost tour business. Boston Macnamara has been sent from Chicago to Cuttersville for inspection of the Samson Plastics plant. He rents a home from Shelby's grandmother for his stay in Cuttersville. Shelby, while conducting a ghost tour of the house that Boston is (unbeknownst to her) renting, walks in on the naked, sleeping Boston. The attraction between the two is instantaneous. The ghosts that inhabited the house that Boston was renting begin to make themselves known whenever she and Boston are together. The two of them finally give in, deciding to enjoy each other until such time as Boston has to return to Chicago. Neither anticipated falling in love. When Boston assumes that Shelby will follow him back to Chicago, heartache is certain to follow. This is a lighthearted read that is very entertaining. Shelby is simply adorable and Boston is the perfect match for her. The secondary characters, including the ghosts, are a pleasure. Erin McCarthy offers a soft touch of the paranormal, and an abundance of laughs and sensuality. I highly recommend A DATE WITH THE OTHER SIDE.
