Just finish the book a week ago, 5/16/2009. This book is amazing! One of the best book I've read in a while. You can't help but fall in love with the characters. However, be careful of some heartaches after reading this book, (in my opinion) one of the saddest ending ever.

I know there are a lot of people who think that the world begina and ends with Stephen King. I am not a particularly big fan of his other books, but this one is one of my newa favorite books of all time. With elements of mystery, fantasy, action, and romance all stuffed togther into one original story full of symbolism and interesting characters, this book is a must-read for all Stephen King fans and the rest of us.

If you are a fan of Stephen King, this is a must read. This is a classic King's novel even though it is not his best. The plot is original and has some quite thrilling moments. However, as a long time King's fan I have to admit that it is not his best. In the end you feel like he is dragging the conclusion just to add some more pages. In short: Great book but not the best of King. If you never read Stephen King try "Salem's Lot" or "The Stand" first.

What a great book this is. This is one of Stephen King's best books. Johnny Smith wakes up after a 5 year coma, with psychic abilities he never had before. Read it and you will love it to.

I have been a Stephen King fan for many years. Somehow, I missed this book when it came out. While discussing favorite books with a friend recently, he brought up "The Dead Zone." I could not believe I had never read it. I happened to have my nook with me, looked it up and downloaded it right then and there. I decided to read a chapter or two before finishing the book I was reading at that time. I couldn't stop! I must say, this is one of my all-time favorite King novels. It is a very unique concept that was expertly written. This is a page turner that robbed me of hours of sleep! There is a little bit of everything in this book including mystery (of course), romance, drama, humor and supernatural influences. You will run the whole gamut of emotions when reading this page turner. I highly recommend it and will probably read it again in the near future.

This novel was good. Stephen King is a fantastic writer. This one, however, wasn't my favorite. It was just sort of hard for me to get into. But i guess it really depends on your taste.

The only part that I was dissapointed with was the last part. The first two parts were real good, then the last slowed waaaaay down. Overall though you will shocked by the turn of events.

He has finished reading it. As far as I am concerned, the fact that he read it all and wants more titles from the same author says it all. This is a kid who will read for his school work, some music and game magazines, and that's it. He gave up his free time to read the Dead Zone.

So, I'm on my way to Oregon, and reading the Dead Zone. M'kay, pretty good so far. Now, shortly beforehand I had read Cujo, also excellent, and was familiar with the story of murdering rapist Frank Dodd. Now, as I read this, and they're trying to figure out who the killer is, who walks into the police station but Little Frankie Dodd? Almost jumped out of the car, I did.

Signet, 1980, 402 pp., $7.99 0-451-15575-0 The Dead Zone Stephen King 'There was the sound of smashing glass. A huge gout of flame stroked up into the night'. Johnny¿s life changed forever after that accident. He gained a special gift and is being pulled in so many directions for it. Johnny was a schoolteacher and was doing well with his life. Then when he and his girlfriend Sarah go to the fair it all changes. On that fateful night Johnny takes a cab home from Sarah¿s place because his car is in the shop. It all seems normal until the accident. Along with Johnny¿s new gift comes much heartache and media attention. He soon realizes that he can no longer be normal and will have to deal with this all of his life. The Dead Zone is a really well written piece of literature that brings in all sorts of emotion. Within the span of fifty pages you could go through happiness, sadness, anger, jealousy, and go through it all over again. I would recommend this piece to anybody who likes suspense or horror and doesn¿t mind losing track of time because the book they¿re reading just to good to put down. King did a really good job with this one. Now the only thing for you to do as the reader is go get thisnumber one best seller book and enjoy yourself. ----Jerrid Michener

This book turned out very well but the first 100 or so pages were very boring I thought. Except for the accident which leads to the coma, there was too much detail about unworthy subject matter until you are about 25% through the book. After that though, it gets very intriguing and keeps you turning pages. As always, Mr. King keeps you planted in place while you read this one, too. Unfortunately, the movie was terrible and I hope Mr. King was as upset as I when he viewed it; entirely too much deviation from the novel.

As far as novels go, The Dead Zone is definitly one of the best of all time. Mr. King has written many of the best stories of all time and could even be considered the one of the top 5 writers of all time. This book shows a true struggle between the forces of good and an unimaginable evil. Johnny Smith wakes up from a coma he has been in for 4 years. He finds that he has the uncanny ability see people's past, present, and future simply by touching them. Eventually he finds one person who will change the world forever. He must decide how he will face the inevitable evil.

I love this book. I think that it is one of the best books by Steven King. The movies are not so great. I could not put this book down. I was mad at it because of the ending, whenever things like that happen, I get mad at the books. One of my favorite books of all time!

The book was very good. There were some parts that were very slow, but they were good because they set the stage for the ultimate and best ending. I think this is one of King's best novels ever!

This is the first Stephen King book I read and it won't be the last. It keeps you saying 'what goes on in this guys head' and you always want to read just one more page. The story is an offset dark and gloomy tale with increasingly good description. 'The Dead Zone' is a well written, outstanding book.
