Meet the Author

A native of Louisiana, Faith Hunter spent her early years on the bayous and rivers, learning survival skills and the womanly arts. She liked horses, dogs, fishing and crabbing much better than girly skills. She still does.

In grade school, she fell in love with fantasy and science fiction, reading five books a week and wishing she could "write that great stuff." Faith now shares her life with her Renaissance Man and their dogs in a Enclave of their own.

    Best One in the Series!

This book was excellent! Faith Hunter introduced some excellent battles early in the book (even if they were in odd places - Sedona? Really?) and kept the pace up until the very end. Some new human characters were introduced, some old flames were rekindled, and the final breathtaking battle was AMAZING. Beast's character gets more action in the book, and I loved it. And some "big reveals" in the last few chapters have me salivating for the next book in the series. THIS book was definitely not "filler." THIS book was GREAT!

Wow. This book is hands down my favorite book from the series. It has tons of action and a great storyline. There were interesting new characters and my favorite old characters including Rick and Bruiser! Not going to spoil anything so go buy the book it is well worth it!

    Very Good

I really liked this installment as it delved deeper into Jane's past. I especially like the characters, Eli and Alex, and hopes she decides to partner up with them permanently. I'm not so fond of Bruiser and his relationship with her. I'm very interested to see the effects of Beast being bound to Leo and what that will entail.

    This one doesn't disappoint!

I am new to Jane Yellowrock series, having just come across it in the last two months. The first book - I couldn't put it down! Same was true of books 2 through 4. I read them all in a month and then had to wait for book 5 to be released. This book didn't disappoint and was as fast moving, innovative and just as good story telling at the first 4 books. Can't wait for the next book in this series. I have a new favorite author in Faith Hunter and her Jane Yellowrock series.

A must-read for fans of vamps, weres, and kicking ass!

The vampire-hunting team that is Jane Yellowrock and Beast are unlike any other paranormal series I have read. Start with "Skinwalker" and don't make any plans, because you'll want to read the next four immediately.

Another great book in a fascinating series. Can't wait for the next one. Maybe Beast will show Leo why it's not wise to tug the kittycat's tail.

The Jane Yellowrock series is one of my favorite series. There are currently five books in the series with the sixth one (Blood Trade) set to release in April of 2013. The first book is Skinwalker. The series features a Cherokee Skinwalker who is the last of her kind. Unlike most shapeshifter series, Jane is able to shift into any type of animal and is not limited to one type of animal throughout the whole series. We watch as Jane, a rogue vampire hunter, finds herself working for a vampire, learning of their culture, the culture of the people who serve them and sometimes finding that she is not the top predator in the room. I found her character development interesting. This is not a traditional shapeshifter and vampire series and I found I rather enjoyed the fresh take in the urban fantasy genre. If you like Kim Harrison Rachel Morgan series, Ilona Andrews Kate Daniels series, and Patricia Briggs Mercy Thompson series (just to name a few) then you should also try this series!

Faith Hunter is an amazing author. Her characters are so strong and multi-dimensional! I read a lot of urban fantasy and sometimes feel like my eyes are going to roll into the back of my head from the "super special conflicted wunderkinds" I see. Jane and Beast live and breathe...Love how she gives people nicknames. Love her sexy guys and the conflicts she feels. Get the series. You won't be disappointed.

    Only because I'm a fan....

Why does B&N request reviews before a book even comes out? Someone should check their software/database configuration.

I love the entire Jane Yellowrock series, which just keeps getting better and better. Jane, a skinwalker, is a fascinating character; she is made more so by the mountain lion spirit (Beast) which shares her body. Beast provides humorous, often insightful commentary inside Jane's head, and lends speed and strength when needed. Since Jane is a vampire hunter, this need occurs frequently. The book will keep you up all night and eager for the next in the series. Try it- you'll LOVE it! :)

Just one comment to the author

Please do not hook Jane up with Bruiser or Leo. Jane needs a man who will choose her over duty or himself.

I was seriously disappointed in this book. I enjoyed the previous books; I like shapeshifters and detest vampires - can't see anything sexy about someone sucking your blood. When Jane was a vampire hunter, I rooted for her. Now she's just another stupid vampire groupie. Ugh Frankly ,we hardly need any more of THOSE. I won't be buying any more of this series.
