Overview

While representing a wealthy tycoon and his ambitious and devious grandson, hard-boiled lawyer Jake Stone is saved from a vicious beating in a shady alley by a lovely young woman with a knack for the martial arts. Snowflake, she calls herself and quickly latches onto Jake for a wild ride through the underbelly of corporate America and beyond. But is she who she says she is, just a humble paralegal looking for a job, or is she a corporate spy, a gun runner, an assassin, or simply a nice girl on the hunt for a decent guy, or perhaps all of the above?

The big question is whether Jake will live long enough to find out.

"I grabbed the first volume of The Jake Stone Thrillers for $0.99 and started reading out of curiosity--after a few pages I couldn't put it down. Mr. Peters writes in a very fresh, authentic style, and the characters have a real charm. The plot is well developed and keeps the pages turning. I'm already buying the next few books in the series. Do yourself a favor and check it out!" Tiger03

“At 190 heart stopping pages Deception is a rollicking, action-packed thriller with plenty of bullets, bodies, karate chops, belly laughs and shady characters to enchant even the most demanding reader. I especially enjoyed Snowflake. Now there’s a girl who really knows how to kick butt in style! I look forward to reading the next volume in this wild and engrossing series.” Theodora K.

"Never have I read so much about female kick boxers/karate chopping, muscled, strong legs and shapely ankles of 'Amazon' women...."

“There’s no question that Peters is a master wordsmith.” Gerry B’s Book Reviews

Editorial Reviews

Linda A. Root
"The way to read this series is to start with Deception, Book One, and keep reading as long as Peters keeps on writing....These books are just plain fun." Linda A. Root, "a prosecutor" and author of the acclaimed novel, The First Marie and the Queen of Scots
Da K
“I originally bought a Jake Stone novel because it was 99 cents. Then I got hooked and bought all the rest of the novels! I love Snowflake - she gives feminism a new face! Jake is a lovable, henpecked guy. The women are all great. I can hardly wait for a new one to be published.”

T.L. Peters' way of writing is wonderful.

Even at 99 cents I wouldn' reccomnend this book. It doesn't even rate one star but i had to click it in order to review it.

I got this book as a gift. It is hard to believe how poorly written it is. Don't waste your money on it. I plan to make the person who gave this book to me read it.

    Don't bother - boring

I thought this would be more like an Alex Cross series. It is not. In fact, the story line is quite unbelievable. I bought the first 5 books to read while on a trip. I didn't even get through the first book as the book was like a comic in word-form.

    Fighting abounds

If you like WWF or similar activities, you'll enjoy this series. Not my interest so I didn't care for the series. I purchased before I read the first one and regretted the subsequent purchases.

Reading this book was like watching a Wylie Coyote cartoon: abs

Reading this book was like watching a Wylie Coyote cartoon: absurd situation after absurd situation. It was humorous, although I'm certain the humor was unintentional.

    The Jury's Still Out

Having difficulty finishing this one. Bought it because of the good reviews and the fact it is a series, but I don't know.

    Hokey, but amusing.

A very hokey type read, like watching the old batman tv series shows. But it was fun and interesting. Worth 99 cents!
