I liked the story in this book. My copy on my Nook had many words missing. I don't know if the book had been condensed for the ebook version or what the reason is.

This story had it all, action, suspense, love and redemption. It is a must read for those who love Old West Romance.
Kyla was fantastic as she works to regain her ranch. Her journey as Kyle is funny and great adventure. She fights her attraction and Jace haunted by his past, is driven to redeem his past deeds. I could not put the book down. I read way late in to the night to finish. It was my fist book by Ms. Harrington, but not my last. You will enjoy the journey in to the old west. I did not read the first in the series, but it is on the list. ~meg

Another great book from someone that fills your mind with pictures of characters in all sorts of situations! I absolutely love the story lines Alexis Harrington brings to life in her books. Strong characters, with lots of depth to them, that you discover as you read along. The only downside to her books is the horrible editing! This book was the worst one so far, it had words missing or turned around in a way that made it difficult to follow if you weren't absorbed in your reading of it. Such a great writer should not have so many errors in a book! The ONLY reason I gave this book a 4 Star rating was because of the number of grammar errors!

The story was great. I've loved all her books but whoever does the editing needs to learn how to do it . The book was still worth reading tho.

"That was amazing" I breathed. He still didn't respond, but he didn't look mad. He was staring out at something. I turned. There were iceburgs everywhere. Getting through this was going to be a nightmare. I must have made a face because Noatak reassured me. "It is not going to be that hard. My father at least saw to it that I would go ice dodging" he said. I nodded. Ice dodging was like a right of passage for fourteen year old boys. They had to manuver through icey waters without adult help. It was up to the boy and his crew to make it through safely. A large iceburg loomed up. "Left" he instructed. We waterbended to the left, narrowly missing the ice. We went right and then another two lefts, when we were confronted with a huge one. "We are going to have to go over it" he said determindly. "Over it?!" I gulped. It was too high, and I was too inexpierianced. We were very close to it now. "We can do this. Just repeat my movements. I know you have the capability" he told me. I frowned, but did as I was told. I pulled water up on my side, and felt us lifting, but not fast enough. We weren't going to make it, I wasn't pulling my weight. He believes I can, I reassured myself. New strength flooded through me. With an explosive arm movement, we shot over the burg with the force of a rocket. We rode the wave down, and I didn't breath til it was over. "We did it" I whispered. "I knew we could" Noatak said, smiling. He should smile more, I thought. I sat down and looked out. We had passed the treacherous ice and it was smooth sailing ahead. I didn't have to touch the water to know it was freezing. Without warning, my joy dissapated as I remembered the old man and the Blood Plague. I just wanted to get off this boat. I must have dozed off because when I came too, Noatak was shaking me gently. "Huh?" I murmured. "We are here" he said pointing. It had gotten drastically colder so I pulled on my fur parka, boots, and gloves. I looked to where he was pointing, an icy land mass was slowly coming into view. And I realized with a start "It is snowing". A small flake floats down to land on my gloves, just as it had six years ago. "You will be seeing that a lot" he told me, but I noticed he seemed distracted. Even a bit worried. His eyes were glued to the land mass. "It will be okay" I tell him. He sighs. We finally get to the land and hop off the boat. I walk next to Noatak and enjoy the feeling of the biting cold. Most wouldn't love that feeling, but I had missed it dearly. Dome shaped tents were scattered throughout the village. Woman walked around outside doing chores and children built small snow forts and threw snow balls at one another. A group of kids playing freeze tag stopped to look at us, but they let us be. I followed Noatak to one tent in the center of the village. "This is my home" he said softly. To be continued in the next result.....

I like Ms. Harrington's writing style. Both Homeward Hearts & Desperate hearts have good storylines, but there were so many typos and missing words that it was distracting.

Really enjoyed this book. Everything about it kept me wanting more. My only complaint is how quickly it resolved. Pretty unrealistic, but still a happy ending.

Again I loved this western live story. It draws you in and you feel like your really there with its characters. Reads fast, but there are words missing in sentences that you have to fill in. Im looking for another one of her wonderful stories!

A really sweet story that made you want to yell at the characters, fall in love with them even more as they travelled the desert, and break your heart for what they struggled with. Amazing story about standing up for who you are and what you want! One of my favorite authors now! Only down side was the grammer, needed help but overall amazing.

Well written and keeps your attention. However, the proof reading was never done. There are many mistakes in sentences and spelling. This makes the reading a little more difficult, having to stop and correct the
mistakes to make sense of the story.
The story line is good and not the usual shoot it up. More of s story for women than men.
