Overview

Grace Love is lousy with men. She can spot a match for someone else a mile away, and her balls-on instincts are why her matchmaking business is thriving, but finding her own Prince Charming? The only guy who makes her sixth sense tingle is her playboy best friend, Trick, and no way is she risking their friendship, no matter how hot she knows the sex will be.

SWAT officer Trick Mathews is a patient guy, but Grace's inability to see what's right in front of her is grinding on his last nerve. Yeah, he blew his shot at breaking out of the friend zone when he tamped down the urge to lick her from head to toe the day they met, but he's got a plan that'll change her mind. Incognito at Salem's hottest Halloween party, he'll show her exactly how good they could be...and that he's the man for her.

Although I only recently discovered Christine Bell, I am a big fan already!  I really like that she writes "friends to lovers" books. Love the Dare Me Series and was really excited to pick this book up.  Grace is such a great characters.  She's sweet, charming, funny and a romantic.  She also has a few moments of comedic gold in this book!  Trick is also a great character trying so hard to figure out how to get Grace to see he's changed his playboy ways.  Sure, this book has a predictable ending but that doesn't mean the journey to get there isn't fun, hot and steamy!

One of my favorite things about reading Christine Bell's stories is, her characters are so real. Each scene plays out with such reality you can see it happening to you. Some of it, you WISH would happen to you, lol! Her one liners, her humor, her emotion and steamy love scenes make it a joy to read her work.

This was the first book I have read by Christine Bell and I was very pleased. I am halfway through "Down or the Count" and it is equally as good. I highly recommend her books.

So, I spent most of my day reading Dirty Trick by Christine Bell. Which happens to be the first in Bell's newest series Perfectly Matched. Basically it's about two friends, Grace and Serena, who own a matchmaking company in Salem, MA.  Dirty Trick starts off right before the biggest Halloween Party of the year. Grace basically gets dump before the party and now she's dateless.  Trick has been in love with Grace since the first moment they met, but he wasn't really ready for a relationship. So, all Grace saw was the playboy side and didn't believe he would change. She figure it would be best to keep them at the friend level. During their friendship, Trick decided to grow-up and want a real relationship with Grace. Somehow, Grace didn't notice Trick had change. Man that gotta suck for him. So, he figure it would be a good idea to let Grace see him differently and try to win her over using a disguise. When will guys learn?  I actually like these two characters, because they really pack some heat when they are together. Grace is a vulnerable woman who is naïve at times. Plus, he's afraid to let Trick into her heart, because she's afraid to get burned again. The last guy did a doozy on her, so she doesn't really trust her instincts when it comes to guys. Yes, Trick was a player, but he really wanted to get with Grace. So, he cleaned up his act. Honestly, that's really sweet.  Overall, I enjoyed Dirty Trick. Yes, Trick was an idiot the way he went about to get past the friendship wall. Still, the guy had to do what a guy has to do to get what he wants. Plus, Grace put up some serious walls to protect her heart. Basically Dirty Trick is a hot steamy read with a sappy ending. So, if you are looking for some steam with a dash of sweet, you might like Dirty Trick. Copy provided by the publisher

I've been a long-time fan of Christine Bell and all her other pen names, but this book may be my all time favorite. She's as hilarious as ever, but this time with two main characters that are just as lovable and realistic as Christine Bell's writing. Trust me, this one some be on everyone's insta-buy list!

## I enjoyed this book tremendously. The two leads have fantastic chemistry which is a must for sure. The first sex scene was a little awkward but things get better from there. This was a short and fun story which I will gladly read again. I only wish Ms. Bell would've added a couple of pages to the ending which I felt was a bit rushed, ergo the 4 star rating.

I loved this book so much had a hard time putting it down. Something about Christine Bell's writing just had me hooked from the get go and had me cheering for Trick to finally show Grace what she'd been missing.  Their chemistry was off the charts and the emotions I hate to say had this heavily pregnant woman a little teary toward the end.  I'll admit I loved this book so much I immediately purchased the two Dare Me book in the Brazen series also by Ms Bell and I loved them too looking forward to more in the Matchmakers series. Overall I give this 5 out of 5(less)

Great Book! I am a huge Brazen fan and Dirty Trick by Christine Bell is an excellent addition to the imprint. This original story is well-written and flows nicely from beginning to end. The two main characters, matchmaker Grace Love and SWAT officer Trick Matthews are likeable, flirty and hot. Ms. Bell does a wonderful job of evolving the characters from the friend-zone into the love-zone by creating a unique storyline unlike any other I have read. Grace and her best friend Serena, own and manage an up and coming matchmaking company. Their firm is successful because once Serena reels in the client, Grace's incredible instincts and ability to understand people takes over, which enables her to conceive the perfect couple. It is interesting to note that neither Grace nor Serena are in a successful relationship. However, Grace's heart, mind and body always tingles whenever she is around Trick, her good friend and neighbor. However, due to a prior relationship that damaged her self-esteem, in addition to her desperate need to ensure Trick remains in her life, she never acts upon her feelings. Two things are very important to smart and hunky Trick Matthews, his job and Grace. In fact, he stopped playing the field over six months ago because his feelings for Grace are so strong. He wants to settle down and to prove to Grace that he is a changed man. So he institutes a plan that he believes will change her feelings about him from friend to lover. Trick's seduction techniques are steamy and wild. He certainly has Grace's attention. And due to Trick's encouragement, Grace's confidence and sexiness is slowly gaining strength. Once he is able to share his true self with Grace, they can find happiness together. This is an entertaining, sweet and sexy romance that should not be missed.

In a word, this book is "delightful." The story revolves around Grace Love and Trick Matthews, two friends who are perfect for each other. Unfortunately, Grace is terrified of risking a relationship with Trick - she has been burned by love before and Trick has a bad track record as a reformed player that makes her wary. All this adds up to him desperately willing to do anything, and we mean anything, for Grace to see him as serious boyfriend material. Let's just say, he embarks on a mission that is sexy but certainly risky, to finally get her attention. (Hint - it involves a hot Halloween costume and a disguised voice). The writing is snappy and at times laugh out loud funny. I love Autumn and Halloween and it doesn't get much more fun and seasonally appropriate than Dirty Trick.  Their best friend and Grace's business partner, Serena, plays a key role and may be one of my favorite female characters in as long as I can remember. She is funny, sassy and a player in her own right. It looks like hers will be the next book and I am dying for the day her story comes out!

At only 138 pages, this book is a rip-off. There is very little dialog and the typos are too many to count.

Ok, the author immediately won me over simply by describing Trick as a Chris Hemsworth look alike. It was not a chore to imagine him in this role and add to that, Trick is a member of the SWAT team. Yep, I was sold! Joking aside, this was a really cute and short read. I loved Trick and Grace as our main MC's. I really like the pairing of a reformed playboy and the beautiful, but down to earth heroine. Albeit a bit unrealistic, I liked that Grace and her best friend owned a matchmaking business that was completely successful based off of Grace's tingles she receives when she finds two souls that were a match. The best part is when the mighty fall. Trick, once being a playboy, changes his ways when he recognizes Grace as his own soul mate. It's too bad Grace has placed him firmly in the friend zone when they first meet, after seeing the steady stream of girls coming and going from his home. It doesn't take Trick long to realize Grace is special, but by then it's too late to make a move. He knows he will have to prove to her that he has changed. When that isn't enough, he takes the next step to open her eyes. Problem is, it may not be the right step. The author teases us with a segue into the next book that will be on Serena, the best friend and one of the new clients of their matchmaking business. Serena was a bit too forward in this book and I am intrigued to read her story to see if her match will tame her wild ways. ARC provided by NetGalley.

***Review posted on The Eater of Books! blog*** Dirty Trick by Christine Bell Book One of the Perfectly Matched series Publisher: Brazen Publication Date: September 23, 2013 Rating: 3 stars Source: Copy bought from Amazon ***Warning: this is an adult book, and for the eyes of mature readers*** Summary (from Goodreads): This matchmaker's about to meet her match... SWAT officer Trick Mathews is a patient guy, but Grace’s inability to see what’s right in front of her is grinding on his last nerve. Yeah, he blew his shot at breaking out of the friend zone when he tamped down the urge to lick her from head to toe the day they met, but he’s got a plan that’ll change her mind. Incognito at Salem's hottest Halloween party, he’ll show her exactly how good they could be…and that he’s the man for her.  What I Liked: You all know how much I LOVE Brazen books. Literally every time Brazen has a publication day for any of its new titles, I have to hold myself back. I can't afford to buy all of them, but oh how I would like to... a lot of times, I buy them way on sale. Like this one - more than a year after its publication, it was free, I believe, for a day. You can't go wrong with free. I didn't love the book, but I didn't dislike it either! Trick Matthews has been in love with his friend Grace for quite some time, but she doesn't see him that way (or so he thinks). He thinks that she only sees him as a player, a guy bouncing between different women. But that's not the case, because Trick has been in love with Grace, and won't give up. Grace, on the other hand, has been nursing her wounds as a single lady, never seeming to find the right guy. Sure, her best friend Trick is hot... but he's her best friend. Too bad she has no idea how much he wants her. I like these types of stories - two best friends fall for each other, or are already in love, but need something to make them realize that they're not alone in their feelings. Trick finally does something, and disguises himself for a Halloween party. He and Grace do the deed... but she has no idea that it's Trick. She is totally into it, and wants more from "Catman". Little does she know! The author definitely dials up the steamy in this book. A true Brazen novel, this one does not like in the physicality of the romance aspect. But, the love story is really there as well. I liked seeing Grace fall for "Catman", and eventually, realize her feelings for Trick. I really like Trick. Grace is cool, but Trick is probably my favorite. He's actually super sweet, thoughtful, considerate, and extremely sexy. Obviously the ones in uniform are the good ones, right? Perhaps... Overall, I liked the romance, and the sizzling chemistry. This type of romance - the best friend type - is one of my favorites, as long as it's developed, and there is no love triangle. None of that in this novel! What I Did Not Like: I think this story could have benefited from more pages. It felt very short, like there could have been more in the very beginning, between Grace and Trick. THEN there could be Grace and "Catman", and THEN she finds out. But I wanted more scenes from Grace and Trick. Also, Grace's business with her friend - that wasn't nearly as present/significant in this book as I had thought it would be. For some reason, I thought it would have come into play at some point in the book, besides being the reason that Grace went to the party. Finally, I think there could have been more depth to this book, more sentimentality. I didn't really feel much towards Trick besides omg-he-sounds-smoking. Grace, more so, because she had a terrible ex-boyfriend, and this is pretty significant in the novel. Maybe I just wanted more personal scenes between Grace and Trick. Maybe more in general, from the depth. Would I Recommend It: I liked this one, but it definitely isn't my favorite Brazen novel. I enjoyed the read! Rating: 3 stars. I'll be looking forward to reading more Brazen books by Christine Bell!

138pgs... okay story. The end seemed too rushed, the story had a decent baseline.

I really liked this story for it's relationship between the two main characters, who are best friends who secretly have deeper feelings for each other. I also loved how they mentioned Batman and Joe Manganiello.

Excellent story that kept me wanting more. It was a new twist on the "friends to lovers" story. My only negative comment would be that the story ended abruptly. It didnt leave the ending up to you, but an epilogue would have been nice!!
