Overview

"Gay black man from Detroit takes leave of absence from his own foreign posting to follow his spouse to Jakarta, Indonesia." What sounds like a trailer for a television show is actually Clayton Bond's life. In his latest offering we are given monthly glimpses into his journal that chronicle not only his experiences exploring a new country but the challenges he faces while trailing his partner. Bond writes openly and honestly about being black, coming out, family, and the intriguing educator Edward Stephens whose past eludes him. Clear and insightful, Bond's writing is a tapestry of his uncommon journey.
