    Great story and acting

This offering is a great story and has understated but excellent acting. Supporting roles accurately portray both the political, social and legal aspects of soviet society in a period of translation between the old soviet society and the new trying freedom. The search for a serial killer shows the emotional, political and social tolls on the investigator, organizations, and society in two different systems. Well done and worth watching many times.

    Love this film!

I have been wanting this on DVD for some time. A very accurate depiction of serial murder investigation in cold war russia. Very well done. Oscar material if it was released as a movie.

    An Unexpected Pleasure

This film is, without doubt, the finest, most accurate and most dramatic depiction of the reality of life in Russia and the Soviet Union. The story is gripping. The acting is outstanding. I recommend it to any viewer who is interested in that part of the world and who is prepared to be shocked and stunned by what she sees.
