Overview

An adventurous former librarian sets out in search of the legendary mines of King Solomon in this epic sequel to The Librarian: Quest for the Spear starring Noah Wyle, Gabrielle Anwar, Bob Newhart, and Olympia Dukakis. Flynn Carsen (Wyle) was a quiet bookworm whose 12 bachelor's degrees, six master's degrees, and four Ph.D.'s weren't earned by risking his life at the far corners of the globe. But now school is over, and the only way to uncover some of history's most exciting secrets is to travel into the field and set out on the adventure of a lifetime.

Editorial Reviews

Barnes & Noble - Ed Hulse
The second in a series of rousing action-adventure films produced for TNT in the U.S. and SKY TV in the U.K., this installment strengthens the Librarian franchise's ties to the Indiana Jones movies and, more broadly, a popular-fiction tradition that dates back more than a century. ER alumnus Noah Wyle returns in the title role, playing Flynn Carsen, the chief staffer of a unique institution whose mandate is to keep precious, ancient artifacts out of the wrong hands. This time around Flynn is charged with locating and protecting the fabled King Solomon's Mines, a task he undertakes with the assistance of brainy and beautiful archaeologist Emily Davenport (Gabrielle Anwar). Their flamboyant, globe-trotting exploits are entertainingly captured on film by erstwhile Star Trek commander-turned-director Jonathan Frakes, thanks to extensive location shooting and a clever blending of live-action stunt work and computer-generated special effects. The movie doesn't quite equal Raiders of the Lost Ark, but believe us when we say it comes within a stone's throw. Wyle is a breezy leading man who occasionally seems out of his depth in the action sequences but handles humorous and romantic scenes with panache. Anwar makes an appealing and capable heroine, too. More elaborately mounted than the first Librarian entry, Return to King Solomon's Mines bodes well for the series and will delight family audiences hungry for rousing, old-school adventures set in exotic locales.

This series is so good. Funny, touching at times, always good. Olympia Dukakis is one of my favorite actresses and it's always good to see her being utilized in a good role. I'd love to see this series continue.

'Return to King Solomon's Mines' is the second movie in the librarian series. Once again, Noah Wyle sparkles as Flynn the Librarian. This series is great for those who love history and trivia. Each movie teaches you something new. You will love the Librarian.

overall deliciously entertaining, funny, romantic, historic-to-fantasy; love the 3 main characters: Bob Newhart & Jane Curtain are terrific with Noah Wylie as the unlikely, but lovable hero, Keep them coming.

The Librarian was great, as usual. Loved the actions and Gabrielle Anwar form "Burn Notice".
