Overview

A dying man entrusts a straight-shooting police detective with the key to a timeless mystery, thrusting the unsuspecting lawman into a deadly world where everyday objects have an unusual influence over reality as the result of an inexplicable rift in time and space. By all accounts the Sunshine Motel was one indistinguishable from any one of the countless other roadside lodges which dot Route 66. On the typical morning of an otherwise ordinary day, however, the contents in room ten of the Sunshine Motel are suddenly transformed into indestructible objects of immeasurable value. There's a comb with the power to stop time when the user runs it through their hair, and a pair of glasses that can inhibit combustion anywhere in a twenty-yard radius. When Police Detective Joe Miller (Peter Krause) is given the most powerful of all the objects - the key to room ten - he is quickly targeted for death by the various cabals that seek to collect the objects; some of the cabals want to collect to objects to achieve their own nefarious means, others simply to prevent them from falling into the wrong hands. Things go from bad to worse for Detective Miller when his young daughter disappears in the room and he must race to solve the mystery of this strange phenomenon before he is caught in the crosshairs and his little girl disappears forever.

Amazing mystery / fantasy / adventure

"The Lost Room" is an amazing and fascinating mini-series. Enter the world of the Objects: seemingly ordinary items -- a key, a comb, a bus ticket -- that have unbelievable powers. And seeking to own and control these Objects are various people, some good, some bad, but all obsessed with putting the powers to their own uses.

In the middle of this situation, stumbles a police detective searching for his daughter, who vanished in the Lost Room. His quest to find her and return her to safety brings him across the paths of collectors and manipulators.

The Objects raise disturbing questions: Where did they come from? How did they get the way they are? What happened in that Lost Room?

But all the detective wants is to get his daughter back. He'll have to navigate down the rabbit hole and back to escape with his daughter and his life.

If you like fantasy or science fiction adventure, check out The Lost Room.

    I Also Recommend:

    An absolute must!

There are no flattering enough words to describe this great TV miniseries... Exceptionally written, filmed and performed, 'The Lost Room' has provided five of the most enjoyable hours of my life. I highly recommend it not only to Sci-Fi addicts, but also to anyone willing to be entranced by a true filmmaking gem.

    A reviewer

This was an Exceptional miniseries. The acting really outstanding. There wasn't one piece of this film that was out of place. A film that made you think about the story. Long after it was over you were still turning the plot over in your mind. This was a film/miniseries that you expected to be a pilot for a television series. There were plenty of directions /plot lines available to continue the story including a prequal. Months later, my husband and I were watching a replay and still hoping, like children waiting for Christmas morning, that we would hear Sci-Fi channel announce that there would be a television series to follow ! What a more inventive use of film than a series about 'hunting ghosts'. As if that plot line passes as being realistic with anyone over the age of 13 !

    Awesome Miniseries

This was a great series if you are into science fiction/fantasy. It's well-acted and the plot becomes more intriguing as the episodes pass. The only sad part to me is that it ended when it did. I could have done with at least a whole season's worth of this show, if not more. Truly fascinating.
