When I first flipped through this book, I was taken back to the felt ornaments my mom used for decorating our Christmas tree when I was wee. We still use them today. While those ornaments are from the late 1970s and early 1980s, these patterns give a modern feel to the tradition, with their use of color and shape. If I was better at sewing, I could easily see my efforts at some of these patterns becoming keepsakes. Luckily, there are no-sew options, so this is an ideal book for people of all skill levels. All manner of Christmas decorations are included, ranging from traditional ornaments to garlands that could easily be repurposed after the holidays.I Would Give This to A friend who is good at sewing—to make some of the more skill-intensive patterns for me (I love the Leaf & Vine Stocking)—or even someone looking for easy holiday crafts for kids.
