    Wonderful!

I bought this book in 1986 when it was in it's 12th printing. Very practical and encouraging to mother's who choose to feed their babies/toddlers more wholesome, healthy foods and snacks. I will always remember rolling out the cracker dough on the cookie sheet and making my own little 'cracker holes' with a fork, before baking. I assume the anniversary issue continues to promote wholesome healthy eating for babies and toddlers! On page 36 of the 12th printing, it mentioned that older toddlers might like frozen peas right from the bag. This gave me an idea. My teething toddlers really liked the peas in this state, so one day I decided to spill out some mixed frozen vegetables on their highchair tray. This became a real treat! So much color, shapes, textures...etc. It was great because they were teething on top of it all and the cold vegetables must have felt wonderful. This book helps to open up your own creative thinking for your own children. My three children ate their vegetables like this almost daily as toddlers and pre-schoolers. Today, in their twenties, they remain avid vegetable eating adults. Wonderful, wonderful book. My copy is stained and wore out but it remains a treasure. My daughters plan on using it when motherhood begins for them. Highly recommend this book.

    A veteran of this book

My mother bought this book in the late seventies and never looked back. She found the recipes useful, easy to cook, and appetizing for small children. The book has gone through so much in twenty years, that even while it is literally falling apart, it still holds a place of honor on the cookbook shelf in the kitchen.

Terrific Book: My Son Loves The Treats

I love the recipes in the book and so does my son. They were extremely simple. The items were common things I already had. Plus they were fast and easy to do when you have to run after your child every five seconds. I had some trouble on coverting my son from commerical baby jar food to finger foods and then to table food. This has made my life SO much easier. I just wish it had a section on how to persude a stubborn child to use a cup. If you have any suggestions feel free to write me.

First Time Mom Loved This Book!!!

When my son was about 7 months old, I was ready to start him on solid foods but I was not ready to pay the high prices for commercial baby foods! This book was wonderful! Easy to follow and good recipes. I would recommend this book to any mother who wants to make home-made baby foods.

I used this book in 1983 and again in 1985 for both of my sons.

I used this book in 1983 and again in 1985 for both of my sons. There is a reason why this book has lasted 30 years. It's a great book and I highly recommend it!

    Helpful

Every parent could use as many resources as possible when it comes to feeding baby 6+ months. Everyone should be encouraged to ask their Doctor first. This book offers up great guidelines with ideas and tips. Whether or not you are making your own baby food or buying it from the store... the extra hand every parents needs is the Help Yourself Feeding Solution. It should be part of any book on feeding one baby or more than one. Perhaps Feed me, I'm Yours" will consider adding it to future additions.
    Food for thought!

    Save Your Money!

I bought this book to make food for my seventh month old. It has hardly any recipes for babies or even toddlers. I was extremely disappointed. I would recommend "123 Cook for Me" by Karin Knight.

    This is great

This book is wonderful. It has alot of tips on how ti make food for baby, it is great to help save money because most of the ingrediants are already in your kitchen. By using this book you know what your baby is eating.

    So worth it

My mother used this book when my sister and I were babies (30 years ago). Now that I'm having a baby of my own, I'm following in her footsteps and making my own baby food. So much healthier! And cheaper (have you seen the price of jars of baby food recently? Yikes!). This book has everything a new mom--or even an experienced mom!--needs to make her baby healthy and nutritious food.

    Very disappointing!

I wanted to make my own babyfood with the book's help and was very disappointed. Most of it was for toddlers and the few babyrecipes were for cookies that were made with lots of sugar or honey. The toddler recipes and fingerfoods also contained lots of sugar and e.g. peanutbutter. Now, where was the healthy food hiding?
