    This book sucked me in!

I will be honest in saying that it took me a few chapters to get into this. Not because of any fault of the author, this was my first zombie book and getting accustomed to it and the military jargon took a few chapters.

With that said, once I got the military jargon down and understood what a zombie actually was this book sucked me in and got my adrenaline running so many times, I felt like I had been a true part of it. The story was full of action from the first page to the very last.

The author did an amazing job of building his characters to real life. You felt their pain, their horror and their agony as the story progress. Major McDaniels was an incredible character with strengths that I know I would want backing me in any time of war.

The storyline of the book was well thought out and filled you in on each and every detail that you would need to complete the picture in your mind.

I was serious when I said my adrenaline was running, there were times when I was so into the story I was literally sitting on the edge of my seat, reading as quickly as I could to see what was going to happen next.

For anyone who enjoys books on zombies, you gotta read this one. Those of you who love to read the military books, well you need to pick this one up and have a go at it, zombie lover or not, you'll understand the camaraderie between the soldiers and the details they must endure for the love of their country!

To Stephen Knight. Hooah! You rocked this one out!

Top ten zombie books I've read

Mr. Knight tosses the reader into pure chaos; a city filled with zombies and a handful of people attempting to flee. Well written, very few mistakes. I read this in one day! Excellent choice if you enjoy zombies. My only complaint is the paperback price seems a bit high. Glad I have a Nook. Anxious to read more of this author's work.

    Great book

If you're in to zombie books you can't go wrong with this one. Plenty of z action. I just finished it and immediately downloaded the follow up novella for my nook.

    Zombies

I found this book through some online friends. I hesitated at paying 2.99 for an author i'd never read, but gave it a shot. The Gathering Dead is an exciting read. Fast and furious. I enjoyed every bit of it. Stephen Knight is an up-in-coming author I highly recommend reading.

    Great Zombie Story

This was the first zombie story I've ever read, so I don't have much to compare it to. I found the writing was fast-paced, and quite enjoyable. Good story about a team of civilians and soldiers trying to make it to safety in New York, surrounded by millions of zombies. The ideas weren't necessarily all that original, but the author paints a vivid picture, and it was a page-turner. I definitely suggest if you like zombie stories.

Best Zombie Book I've Ever Read!

I read a lot of books, especially zombie books, and this is the best I've ever read! The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because there's a lot of military jargon unexplained that I didn't get.

The characters are well developed, you feel you know them all, and the suspense builds. A Special Forces military group is responsible for getting a scientist with out of the city. The scientist may have a cure for not becoming a zombie, but first they have to make it out of New York. The odds are against them. I could not put this book down! Highly recommend!
