    Not what Barnes&Noble implied

I looked up the real version of the book. Off to the side, the site had a link to the "nook" version. This isn't the full book, just chapter summaries. I am very disappointed, and this hardly promotes reading.

    Warning!

This shows the Spark Notes NookBook on the same page as the actual book. I was trying to buy the actual book "The Good Earth" for my Nook and I got these useless Spark Notes (as I am not a student) by mistake!

    Beware!

    The Good Earth

The Good Earth by Pearl S. Buck was published in 1931. It became one of the most popular novels in the 20th century. It tells of the way ordinary people who are farmers live and struggle to survive on small plots of land in rural China. The main characters, Wang Lung and O-lan, are strong and resourceful, rearing their family during droughts and floods. It is a story that holds your interest and is an eye-opener. Untill this story very little was known of the real way people in rural China lived. It is not so different from that of such people in other places in the world. It is an easy read and I recommend it highly.

    False Advertising

I am looking for The Good Earth, not chapter summaries, not someone else's notes; I can provide my own, thank you very much. This should not be listed next to the book as an ebook, simply because it is not the book. Why not just say that The Good Earth is not available as an ebook????

An amazing book. Makes you feel like you live in China!

The Good Earth is fantastic. The book talks about family, love, work, and everything else you could imagine. It portrays a man's life, Wang Lung, and how he suffers through the good and bad. I read it and I did not want to put it down. I have read more than 60 books, and The Good Earth is my all-time favorite!

Pearl S Buck wrote what she lived and/or learned from her parents

I have read and reread this trilogy (The Good Earth, A House Divided and Sons). I was blessed with a gift of many of her other books. You will never be bored or dissapointed with any of her books. However, if you read The Good Earth, you should definity read the other parts of this trilogy. The Good Earth speaks to the heart of every man and woman that struggles to make it in this world. They just happened.to lived in an era long gone.

This book had me feeling sorry for the main character's struggles.

Such a true masterpiece to me. This book is one of my top ten favorites. The characters, the struggles, the family, and a story telling of a peasent farmer turning into a wealthy man after so much hardships. I could not put this book down for a whole week... I am a bit of a slow reader. Yet when reading this book I was amazed at how surprisingly good it was. I hope to find the seqauls soon.
