Overview

The sexy, heart-felt new standalone romance from New York Times bestselling author, Melody Grace!

They say that time heals a broken heart, but you try moving on when your ex is the most famous man on the planet.

At least, that's what it feels like every time I see a magazine cover or billboard plastered with his gorgeous face: Finn McKay. Now he's a drop-dead sexy rock star, but when I knew him, he was just the boy from the wrong side of the tracks – and the first guy I ever loved. He broke my heart into a hundred pieces when he skipped town without saying goodbye – but now he's back.

And he wants me.

I'm determined not to make the same mistakes twice, but the chemistry with Finn was always way too hot to ignore. The past five years have been good to him, real good, and between his dirty mind and that 'I know how to make you scream' smile, he's breaking through my defenses all over again.

Maybe one last wild fling for old time's sake is what I need to finally move on. But what happens when Finn wants more than my body?

This time he wants everything.

I have to admit I was looking for a bit more heat. Compared to most books, this is rated PG. Mild sex scenes made this book more of a young adult book versus adult romance. Sweet might be a more appropriate description of the book. Not what I was looking for.

I really enjoyed this book! I loved the Beechwood Bay references!! The only thing I found a bit odd was that Finn is a rock star, but not once was he swarmed by groupies or sought out by the press. He just strolls around town like the local mechanic without a care in the world. But that aside, I thought their love story was great. Eva and Finn were unlikely high school sweethearts. Eva was the good girl, and Finn was the bad boy from the wrong side of the tracks. But love crosses all boundaries. Regardless of their differences, they were best friends who fell in love. Then one day, Finn is just gone. "Finn didn’t just leave town that night after graduation. He erased himself completely. No note, no calls, no casual updates online. He vanished so thoroughly, he didn’t even tell his father where he’d gone." After losing not only her boyfriend, but her best friend, Eva has no choice but to move on without Finn. She goes away to school to pursue her dreams, but her heartache evolved into some questionable behavior and she ultimately leaves school to head back home where it's safe. She's existing, but not really living. She's never quite gotten over Finn, but she decides it's time that she does. Finn has made something of himself. The boy from the wrong side of the tracks, who would never amount to anything, is a rock star. His songs are all over the radio and he's playing sold out stadiums the world over. But none of it means anything without Eva. He had to let her go all those years ago so he didn't drag her down. But now... Now he's getting back his girl. "Finn McKay is back in town, as gorgeous and charming as ever. But I’ve learned my lesson the hard way. For the sake of my heart, I’m steering clear." To Eva, he is "The best thing I’ve ever done and my biggest regret, all wrapped up in one heart-stopping package." Eve can't resist Finn as much as she tries. There is an undeniable connection between them. So a physical relationship will sate the lust and give her closure. She will give him her body, but not her heart. But Finn wants it all, and he won't stop until he has it. "She said I was coming home, and that’s what it feels like. Here, in her arms, with nothing between us anymore, I feel the kind of peace I’ve not found the whole world over. A rightness, a belonging. And *expletive*, it drives me crazy, but underneath the screaming nerve endings and mad, hot lust, there’s something more powerful than just this moment. Beyond physical, to where it touches my soul. This girl, this place. Right here." Finn's demons are too strong to stay in Oak Harbor, and Oak Harbor is Eva's security blanket, and she can't bring herself to leave. They found their way back to each other after years apart, and mistakes made. Their love is strong, but is it strong enough to survive this?
