I really enjoyed this series but I felt there were a lot of... I suppose loose ends. The first book completely drew me in; I stayed up all night to read it. Unfortunately, the ending was bizarre and not nearly as well developed as the rest of the story. It almost felt like a cop out the way it ended. For me, the second book was especially angst ridden. It started off good but the time he spent at the the school just dragged and dragged. Once he got out, things picked up but then went back down again at the end. Not as vague an ending as the first book but I would have liked a bit more development. The third book had all the makings of something absolutely extraordinary, however, I personally felt that the author spent a lot of time describing the less interesting feelings of isolation almost all the teenagers felt rather than developing some of her more interesting plot points. I also felt there were a lot of things that were brought up that were only half explained. In the end I felt that the book had the best ending of the three but that was overshadowed by the lesser amount of development in the story. All in all I thought the story was great and the world was enchanting. I would have loved to have had more primary characters from the lesser guilds and/or to have expounded more on the lives of those in the lesser guilds. I think it would have made for a richer narrative and put less pressure on the wizards and warriors to perform.

This book is intresting and spledid. I loved the suspense and thrill of this book from the moment I picked it up. I thought everything was easy to comprehend and it was simply great. If you'e looking for a good fantasy book, this is the one for you!!

My daughter and I both loved these books and hope there will be more from these characters.

The box set is far more inexpensive that buying each individual book so that is a plus as for the overall story is lovely but somehow it feels as if there are missing pieces to the background. The conflict was quite interesting but the resolution felt inconclusive and somehow unsatisfying, nonetheless, I enjoy the growth and nature of the protagonist as well as the mythology with in the story.
